Evolution, Creationism, or Intelligent Design?

Do you have a preference? Does your minister/pastor/rabbi preach on any of these?

Intelligent design. The comlexity of design could not
have been an accident of nature i.e. evolution].
[Some sequences, of design, were not possible, without -
at minimum, intelligent design.]

To me, to accept that an evolutionary process came up
with my cat - is risible, in itself. It requires more of a trusting
‘faith’ to hold that evolution provides the explanation of how all came to be -
than to hold with creationism, or to hold that -
at minimum, an intelligent designer was at work.

Romans 1: 19-20
For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them.
Ever since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what He has made. As a result, they have no excuse…

What Saul is missing, here, is that indication of design
merely notes that an intelligent being, a designer, was/is at work.
Yet this, in itself, speaks not of the designer as loving being -

…because, that ‘designed,’ can wreak havoc…tornadic episodes,
tsunami, volcanic activity, flood, fire, illness.

That the designer cares for and loves human beings can only be
known through religious testimony - through revelation, and
the acceptance of this testimony, in faith.
The story of Job is relevant here.

30 months ago, when a tsunami caused the loss of life to
a quarter of a million people, what to say of the designer then?
That the designer set in motion a reality - in the natural world,
which caused great loss of life, great destruction, and great
suffering, both in the human realm and in the realm of
sensate creatures.

Revelation is the sole source that one can turn to, to know
far more about the Designer - the Being Who said ‘I AM.’

Because of I AM…we are.

Ok. Can you provide some specifics of evolution that would require Intelligent Design?

Both evolution and creation happened and continue. Today, the fastest and most predictable evolution is done by genetic engineering. The second fastest and most predictable is done by deliberate breeding. There is also a slow and unpredictable kind that responds to accident. I believe that the first kind has always predominated, and the main genetic engineer has always been God and still is. The second kind still occurs, and did from near the beginning of life, but life itself arose by design and so did the conditions in which life developed. Accidental evolution is not truly accidental but is still God at work. Since the Fall, mutation has been far more dangerous and conditions have been more changeable.
Evolution is simply a tumbling process in which God works on His creation. It’s directed, controlled and purposeful. Some developments in the unfolding of life have been direct sudden creations. Others have gone through the tumbler along the way to what they are now. It makes no difference how long it took. What matters is that every stage had a purpose and we have a purpose and we matter.

Evolution, Creationism, or Intelligent Design?
Do you have a preference?
I don’t know. I don’t see how the answer to that helps me with the single most important question of whether God exists. My belief in God is based upon my study of revelation through the OT, NT and early church writings, as well as an array of my own experiences (although no private revelations for me). So, because I believe that a deity exists, He could have used intelligent creative evolution to make the universe and life for all I care. I’m just glad He did it.

  1. Evolution.
  2. He does, I just haven’t been there long enough to hear a service about it.

Evolution.

Bhikkhu. No, the question is irrelevant to the religious path.

True…👍

Evolution, Creationism, and Intelligent Design endeavour to answer the question “How?”, whereas the religious path addresses the question, “Why?”
