I have scanned the book. Lots of misinformation and sedevacantist perspectives. Basically, according to the author if you like the Pope, then, by definition, you hate God.

These people need a quadruple dose of Fr. Corapi. Slanderous site

I read the overview also and it does look interesting. Makes me sad about how some laity inside the Church can hurt people. B’cuz sometimes this goes on around my parish and how a lot of people who are in charge in our parish can sometimes abuse their responsibilities  sometimes i wonder who to trust and talk to about these things.

We need to extra hard pray for our members of the Church and those in power inside the Church also.

Mother Mary, keep praying for us!!!

:blessyou:

I received a very solid formation in my Faith and I am totally orthodox as my posts will show. I have watched the programmes I have liked on EWTN for five years and I have never heard or seen anything which raised a question mark for me. Having said that I must say that I don’t watch or listen to EWTN programmes with a hermeneutic of suspicion or put under the microscope every word of dear Fr Levis.

I think that in our tragically undercatechised age EWTN and Catholic Answers radio are doing wonderful work in bringing the authentic Faith to countless numbers of Catholics who were denied this in their Catholic in name only schools or from the pulpit.

Most of the criticisms which are raised in Mr Ferrrara’s book are from live programmes and so we are unable to check for ourselves whether they have been taken out of context or have been misheard.

Robert Sungenis (I don’t know if he likes EWTN or not) reviewed Mr Ferrara’s book and says quite tellingly "In the larger picture, although Ferrara’s work targets EWTN, his book is really a
critique of the entire post-conciliar Catholic establishment. EWTN merely plays the part
of the mirror through which the Vatican II Church is now being reflected."

It would appear that criticism of EWTN is the vehicle through which the post Vatican II Church is being criticised.

Overall, I like EWTN, however I have seen questionable content. However, by ‘questionable’ I mean ‘questionable’ by my personal standards, not outside of what is currently taught by the church in the modern age.

At Easter I turned on EWTN and it featured a program where there were Muslims, Catholics, Protestants, Jews and …? in a room praying together and seeking religious common ground.

I know, I’m overly critical. Its just that I don’t think people should confuse good will towards all men as the same thing as compromising one’s religious beliefs.

I think its a fake sincerity to say we all have the same belief in the same god. I think that dumbing down of theology is exactly what will be problem for the salvation of souls.

I think its fine to have a tea party with people and all laugh and get along. That is great. But when you try and make it into a universal religion then whoa, look out, the anti-christ is suddenly present.

Look at Obama. He calls himself a “christian” and he believes that Jesus is not the Son of God, but a teacher.

THAT my friends, is the message of the anti-christ.

Ewtn is contributing to this ‘new’ religion of universal belief in one nebulous God who’s name is NOT Jesus Christ.

This really scares me. I’ll have no part in it. I’m not going to hell if I can avoid it.

Obviously you hadn’t seen Wednesday’s EWTN live with Fr. Mitch. Fr. Mitch talked about his disbelief in Pluralism and universal religion.
