I just looked at their website, it looks like they are something called the society of pope Pius XII.

I have had Christopher Ferrara’s filth shoved in my face by a SSPX’s on another BB (of which I am still waiting for my membership to be removed from). It is nothing but garbage masquerading as journalism.

These Rad-Trads’ overwhelming sense of superiority is more than compensated by their keenly-developed lack of charity.

I haven’t read this book and probably will not do so.

I’m not sure that anyone posting here has actually read the book to be able to discuss it intelligently. That inclines me to buy it and read it.

I am not infatuated with M.Angelica the way that many other people are, for better or worse. Nor do I care for all of the features on EWTN.

For example, there’s the program “Super Saints”. Well, I didn’t know that there was anything better than being a “saint” then along comes this program that implies that there are “super” saints. I guess the other saints are not so “super.”

A co worker signed me up for the Remnant, I find it very negative and disrespectful of the Vatican. I don’t think these people take into consideration the state of ones heart or that Christ called us to be united as one Church.

The Remnant is just another example of hatefulness of extreemism. Their judgement is clouded by their perception that doctrine has changed. It has not. The only thing that has changed is some disiplines. I have come to the conclusion that:
  • Radical Traditionalist raise disipline to the level of doctrine
  • Radical Modernists lower doctine to the level of disipline.
Both are in the wrong.

I’ve gotten this paper in the mail before too. More things to fuel the fireplace or paper to let the dog go potty on.

Count me in as one of the EWTN addicts! I can’t get enough of it. Then I jump in my car to work and listen to EWTN on the radio! The author that book attacking EWTN just comes off sounding like sour grapes. GOD BLESS MOTHER ANGELICA!

I never ordered the book and received it too, Jaypeeto4. A letter accompaning the book, asks to be called on an 800 number to let them know you have received the book. I wonder how they have the money to send books to people who didn’t order them.

:blessyou:

Well, guess what??
Though I didn’t even ORDER a copy,
in yesterday’s mail I received a copy of the BOOK called, EWTN: A Network Gone Wrong by Ferrara. And of course, there was a letter begging for a substantial donation for the book.

Since I never asked them to send me the book in the first place, I am not going to return it, and I am certainly not going to send a donation for it. It came from Nicolas Gruner’s organization.

Wow - great analysis.

I’m claiming # 9 and would hope that everyone come to realized the tremendous “GIFT” and "BLESSING"we have in this wonderful newtwork!
**EWTN:thumbsup: **

I got 10!

God Bless EWTN!

Mother Angelica and her network were essential to my reconversion to the faith.

I am a number 12, what I like is that they stream their programs over the internet, which is great for those of us without cable. Also, I like how they give so much content away for free.

So am I unlucky 13 if I say I like EWTN? Oh that’s right, Catholics don’t believe in luck! Am I blessed to be the 13th?

Sour grapes on the new book’s part. I went to their website and I don’t like it. Not returning…

EWTN has been instrumental in my wife’s conversion. She listens to the archived EWTN shows daily as well as the EWTN Spanish feed. It has an excellent raido program called Criterios (it is only in Spanish).

In oe of Father Corapi’s shows, he told the story about being in a meeting with several Latin American bishops. These bishops were asking each other why so many Latinos were leaving the Church for evangelicalism, etc. Father Corapi told them, “It’s your fault!” Needless to say they weren’t thrilled with him. Fr. Corapi has a point. EWTN is evangelizing Latin America (and Spain) through its Spanish network like nobody else.

#14 Been trying for years to get our cable company to carry it. It’s been on for 3 months now and I watch nothing else (it’s on in the corner of my computer screen even now.) Since it’s only on “premium”, I’ve had to order 3 more special boxes to cover all the sets in the house. Mother Angelica Rocks! DD loves “friar cam”.
