Has anyone seen Light Of The East on EWTN?
EWTN shows the relevant episodes again and again at certain times of the year, related especially to the Nativity of our Lord and Pascha. So look for episodes to be on the schedule as Advent comes.

The series used to run an episode each week on EWTN from Episode one through the whole series, starting again with episode one when they finished showing the final episode. They used to sell the VHS tapes in the Religious Catalog. I got a used set on Amazon and have been wanting to convert them to DVD ever since.

I think it’s a quite good series for a basic introduction for Latin Catholics and others to the ECCs.

Thanks for the review! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for it this coming Advent. Perhaps I’ll get lucky and catch it. 👍

Look for them to air in the wee hours of the morning. :sad_yes:

I see in the current specials on EWTN in the US
UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY: A LIGHT IN THE EAST: This is a special presentation of the Church in Ukraine today, a Church that is being reborn from the ashes of persecution and finds strength in her faith. In this program, we see aspects of the Church in Ukraine and a particular project that is necessary for the Church to rebuild and create a better culture in Ukraine: the Ukrainian Catholic University.
1 hour long Sun 10/9/11 3:00 AM Eastern time, so we missed that. I’m sure it’s a rerun.
UKRAINE - FORGOTTEN GENERATION:After a long history of persecution, the Ukraine declared independence in 1991; this is the story of what comes next, including the country’s difficulty coping with the dire condition of education and childcare.
30 mins Thu 11/3/11 3:00 AM Eastern time

Where God Weeps is a weekly TV & Radio on EWTN/Catholic Radio. It very often broadcasts stories of our ECCs.

Here are archives of some of the programs:
Romania: The persecution of the Greek Catholic church
Romania - Towards the Sun
Christians in Iran: Where sun and moon touch
Macedonia - Ut unum sint
👍👍👍

I think I’ve seen the one about the Ukr Catholic University, but it was last year or so. I’m going to see if I can set my DVR for the other one.
