This has nothing to do with EWTN being too secular. It’s just something funny that happened tonight. I was wondering if anyone else caught it.

I’ve been waiting all week to see this program on cohabitation. It’s important to me, because I minister to many men in this situation.

The time arrived and I was all set for my program. I even had an apple with me, may favorite, but I’m only allowed to eat one per week. So I saved it for my special program.

Suddenly, there is the speaker. The graphics are all about the subject. But the voice was Father Pavone talking about the upcoming elections.

I thought I had messed up our TV. I live with another brother. I called him to check out the TV, thinking that I had done something to it. Nope, it was not me. The situation continued for a good 20 minutes before EWTN fixed. It was a hoot watching the mouth move and the graphics talk about cohabitation and the voice talk about abortion and elections.

After 5 or 10 min, I finally had an idea. I turned off the voice and turned on the subtitles. :nope:

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂

Well, unfortunately, nothing is perfect, even something as great as the EWTN network. 😃

I too enjoy this part most of all.

This is a riot. The whole time that I was watching I kept asking the same question. The only answer that almost made sense to me was by one of the kids from our parish who was there. They tried to hide the lighting in a “cloud” to use the theme from the OT where the Lord led the Israelites with a cloud by day and a column of fire by night.

My feeling is that if this was the idea, they didn’t quite pull it off. To me it looked like a mushroom.

Yes, that ‘thing’ at WYD did look like a mushroom, but I think it sprayed water from time to time so that the Holy Father and everyone else near him wouldn’t roast in their Mass vestments. Kind of like a ‘misting fan’ you’d see at a football sideline, only bigger! 😃

It also served as a shade!
