I find EWTN is becoming too secular for me. Especially the host and hostess. seems to me they use their shows to plug their own personal agenda without any regard to Catholic teachings. They seem to be straying more and more!

Who are the host and hostess?

I like EWTN too, so I’m curious as to who the OP has in mind…

I would be interested in knowing what this secular agenda is exactly.

Greetings Tomas10,

If you are going to provide a thread like this, do you mind giving which shows you think are becoming too secular, so that one could discuss this thread.

Personally I find EWTN refreshing and true to the Church’s Teaching. However, I have not watched it in quite awhile, so things may have changed since I have last seen it.

God bless.

After noon Mass on weekdays, I listen to our local Catholic radio station which airs sermons from EWTN. Always excellent.
I have it programmed in my list.

Not sure I understand what the problem areas are until the secret is released by the OP.

Well, I have watched it in particular all weekend with the storm passing. I’m not sure its possible to put a better Catholic Station on the air.

You know what caught my attention, usually you’ll see Mother Angelica and the Sisters recite the Rosary. However yesterday they had more of a public Rosary with all ages’s participating. However the prayer intention was for the Reparation of Sinners and the Converstion of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Not that I don’t add this to my own Rosary intentions, however I guess I was surprized to see it on EWTN. Though I’m glad to see more of this outside of Fatima.

Peace

which program are you speaking of? there are dozens of programs with their own hosts. Please give a specific example of a specific person on a specific program who taught something against Catholic teaching.

I don’t think its Life on the Rock. Last time I watched there wasn’t a female host and one of the hosts was a priest.
Last time I looked, Life On The Rock had two men as co-hosts, Father Mark Mary and Doug Barry.

Maybe the OP meant ‘Women of Grace’ or ‘The Abundant Life’. On those shows there is a hostess, Johnnette Benkovic, and a host, a priest whose name slipped my mind right now. He sometimes says the Daily Mass or preaches the sermon. He’s a Holy Cross priest (CSC).

Now even EWTN is heretical?

🍿

Yummy. Pass the remote, will ya?

I love EWTN! Both the radio shows and television shows. The only program I have found that I don’t like/can’t watch is The World Over. And that is just because the host rubs me the wrong way, not because I dislike the content.

Its like anything; there are many great programs and then there are some that are way too modern for my tastes. But I do own a channel remote. Push da button when things start to irritate me.

God Bless 🙂

I enjoy most of the programs I watch on EWTN – I particularly like “The Journey Home” and “Life on the Rock”. Last week I watched it for a long time broadcasting from Madrid when so many of the young people were arriving for World Youth Day. It was particularly enjoyable because I don’t believe my local paper covered World Youth Day at all. With over one million young people attending World Youth Day I can’t quite figure out why the paper wouldn’t cover it, but then I do think it’s a bit BIASED!!!
Also last week they showed a movie about Maximilian Kolbe – it was beautiful!!!

Are you sure you’re not watching TBN? Because, that’s the only way I can see to explain your issue.
