EWTN TV mass today

A live Mass was celebrated in the EWTN TV chapel, Nativity of John the Baptist, today 6-8pm, live, Eastern Time. Did anyone see this? The homily was given by Brother Patrick Mary, and immediately afterward was a song in Latin which was absolutely beautiful.

For those of you who saw this live tonight----does anyone know the name of that song and who sang it during the Mass?

I hope they repeat it at 12 AM!
 
Ah, the song immediately after the homily was not the one I mentioned. As I recall it was played during Communion.
 
Thank you—yes, it was repeated at midnight, and I will call EWTN Monday about it, and someone there will know, but thanks for your responses and if anyone else happened to see it, that would be great if you happen to know the song immediately after the homily.

It was a very moving song.

Is Br. Patrick Mary a friar who is actually a priest or deacon? The reason why I am asking is that from what I’ve seen on posts about EWTN is that they usually get it right. The homily at Mass must, of course, be given by a sacred minister. I believe there are some mendicant orders where priests are still called brother. I presume Br Patrick Mary isn’t a lay person.

He’s a seminarian who was just ordained as a deacon.

I listened to this song in Germany, 1986 on. It brings tears to my eyes. Another song that literally brings tears to my eyes is Sheep May Safely Graze. Particularly when played by Christopher Parkening.
 
Looks like they’re repeating the mass this morning.

I’m getting ready for mass, but I’ll record it. 🙂
 
As I mentioned, I’ll be calling EWTN HQ tomorrow and they should know, it’s their programming—when I find out the song and title and artist and the person who sang it during the Mass, I will be sure and post it here…

My experience with the Cistercians is that they call each other Brother whether they are a priest or not. A Cistercian vocations director told me, “We become monks first to be brothers” and said told me to address the monks as Brother.
