My cable service is finally getting EWTN added to their lineup. I can’t wait. I have watched it online and get a lot out of it and it draws me closer to God spiritually. They made some lineup changes and moved other stations to other packages that I don’t have including TBN. My wish finally came true to have EWTN on my TV. This a great day!!!

Yay!!! :clapping: So glad for you! :dancing:

With all the evil garbage that is now on TV, I don’t know what we’d do without EWTN. When we watch TV, it’s on about 98% of the time.

God bless and Happy New Year :snowing:

Ditto, here. Now I’m waiting on the day when EWTN-HD gets up and running, to see Father Groeschel in high definition!

MarieVeronica, may I ask where you got your sig image? I don’t think I’ve seen one exactly like it…

Hi “tass” I can’t remember exactly where I got it… but it was from one of those free sites (where you are given permission to use the images, in this manner).

It is based on the Shroud of Turin… and shows Our Lord, before His death. I chose it… in honor of Him, first; and secondly, in honor of my Confirmation saint… Veronica.

This is the image… which St. Veronica might have seen… after she courageously wiped the Sacred Face of Our suffering Lord with her veil.

Happy New Year :snowing:

I know I have seen it on the Internet, but it is truly a blessing that I will have it on my TV now. It is also such a blessing that TBN will now still with the same Cable company but on a package that I don’t have. TBN really upsets me in many ways. I seen a documentary on how Samson couldn’t have had the strength that he did and it was just a fable in the Bible and all. Also I if I am not able to go to mass I will watch it on EWTN. I don’t miss mass for anything other than family functions.

It truly is. It’s also been a blessing when on the road, when it’s an excellent refuge from the scum available in hotels.

:blessyou:

really, on TBN they had a show doubting Samson power. That is unusual, but I do like all the old Sandal and Sword and Biblical Movies that they show, certainly beats watching reruns of Friends and other junk. However, in my town, TBN and EWTN share the same channel, it is Ewtn from 1PM to 10PM, then it switches over to TBN, and on Sunday from like 1 to 3 there is a Jewish station comes on. I really wish that Ewtn would be on 24 hours a day, but fortunately I have the internet to satisfy my needs. Of course, I guess it is better to share with TBN, then what it was ten years when EWTN was shared with the porno channel 😦 lousy Cablevision

they really did. I will look for the title of the program. I was appalled. I didn’t even know until I joined CAF that EWTN existed. I started watching some programing via Internet. It is so hard to find stuff that expresses Catholicism when there is so much that endorses Protestantism and denounce Catholicism

Back in the old days, like way before I really started watching all of the religious channels when I was a little rebel. I believe that TBN actually did show some Catholic programming like Mother Angelica and Fulton Sheen, and I remember a couple of years ago they had a program talking positively about JPII after he died.

You know what I think Ewtn needs to though to show some more movies, like I remember one day they were showing Don Bosco and Saint Rita, and I was glued to the television watching. However, I was reading though about how Ewtn has gone into decline since Mother Angelica’s retirement, embracing more modern forms of Catholicism in the programming and how they have actually censored parts of Mother Angelica’s shows. I haven’t been watching it enough to see any difference. By the way I love the audio library they have on the website, I just listen to all the old shows and it is great.

I agree!

I’ve wondered about this, and they show many more of Mother Angelica’s shows from the 80s than the late 90s which are the ones I especially like. Even in the Masses, they are turning to more of the vernacular again.
😦
