And that would be quite correct. The two valid options in offering of a single species an English language Mass would be

1. THE BODY OF CHRIST
2. CORPUS CHRISTI

No other options have been approved by our bishops and Rome, and therefore, no one has the authority to change those.

I think you may have misread. As extraoridinary ministers, our instruction would have been the same.

Each of us is also a member of the Body of Christ. We were incorporated into His Body at Baptism. “We were all baptized into one body.” (1Cor 12:13).

But we are not being Offered ‘each other’, we are not recieving ’ Each Other’.

Exactly. I was taught to not say “this is” and given the reason why. Again, I think you may have misread my earlier post.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at Mass

So the bottom line is there is absolutely no wiggle room in the GIRM for editing as our pastor has instructed the EMHC’s. And thank you for the link to the GIRM. I have dutifully printed it out for my friend who is currently confused but not for long. FYI This is the same priest who has repeatedly stopped Mass, during the weekday Mass, because he see’s someone kneeling when our Archbishop has said stand, and yelled (yes yelled)'Stand up". And once snarled at a man (not from our parish)who approached to receive H.C. from our parish priest and the priest snarled, loud enough for everyone to hear, “I saw you kneeling back there, didn’t I?”. All were sure there would be a rumble and the layman would not be given the Blessed Sacrament. We got crazy going on in our parish. Thank you.

Only those who can confect the Eucharist are Ministers of the Eucharist. Deacons are Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

I didn’t forget Deacon, heck I’m studyign to be one. Which is also why I know that Deacons are NOT Eucharistic Ministers!!

A Minsiter of a Sacrament is the person who confects the Sacrament. A Deacon can never Confect the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

What the Deacon can do is COMMUNICATE the Sacrament, that is, bring it to the Community.

Hence, he is an Minister of Holy Communion. A layperson may do this in an ExtraOrdinary way, and thus is an ExtraOrdinary Minister of Holy Communion,.

But neither the Deacon or the layperson is a Eucharistic Minister.
