I am a brand new Catholic and I would like to develop lifelong habits regarding examining my conscience. I carefully prepared for First Communion through RCIA and reconciliation, but it wasn’t until the actual Easter Vigil mass that I felt worthy enough to approach for Eucharist. It might sound funny, but I was unsure of my worthiness until I prayed and realized that as long as I was in a state of grace and approached with love and faith, I should be fine.
So, now, to prepare for the next mass, would you please recommend how to do a daily examination of conscience to determine when I need to do reconciliation? I thought perhaps I would plan on reconciliation monthly, no matter what. Is it better to do an EOC daily, or should I do it less frequently (like the day before mass)?
