I am entering the FSSP seminary in a short 12 days, I can’t wait! I’m the only kid in the world excited to go to Nebraska for seven years, lol!

I was raised hearing solely Novus Ordo Masses and I was contemplating the diocesan priesthood for some time (since about 15 or 16). But then I saw the 1962 liturgy (on the internet 😛 ) and I was taken. Can’t really describe exactly what it was to be honest, I just knew that is what I wanted to do. For some reason, there are just about no Tridentine Masses in my area, so the first one I physically went to was actually during my visit to the FSSP seminary. For that reason, I was virtually sure I would be turned down, but the vocations priest told me that it wouldn’t hurt to apply, and I did. I have no idea what it was that made them accept me, my application was inadequate, my interview was weak, I have pretty much no experience with the Tridentine Mass, I don’t have an impressive academic record, but they still let me in! Thanks be to God!

Anyway, there are about 20 guys going in with me. I hope you can offer your prayers for the formation of my brother seminarians and I!

Saint John Vianney, pray for us!

Count on the moderators’ prayers. All of us. And remember to pray for us as well. 👍

Congratulations on your acceptance. 👍 May God guide your discernment.

God bless you, I will keep you in my prayers. Great news, very happy for you 😃
What a Blessing! As Mr. Thomas Casey said, please keep us in your prayers as well.

:highprayer::signofcross::gopray2:

Best of wishes, please keep us posted when possible. Pax.

Congrats! I’ve known a couple young men here in Omaha who weren’t accepted in the past, so you must’ve done something right! 👍 We’ve got three seminarians from our parish that are in Denton now (one of them is a deacon to be ordained next year - Rev. Joshua Passo), so I know you’ll be in good company. Who knows, maybe I’ll get to meet you at the ordinations next year, which will be at our very own St. Cecilia’s Cathedral in Omaha!

May God bless you in your vocation, and please keep my family in your prayers!

BTW, it’s not so bad here in Nebraska. Just think, you’ll only be about 10 minutes away from Memorial Stadium to see the Huskers play! 😉

Excellent!

They are changing the ordination venue?

O Lord grant us priests, O Lord grant us priests
O Lord grant us holy priests, O Lord grant us holy priests
O Lord grant us many holy priests, O Lord grant us many holy priests
O Lord grant us many holy religious vocations
O Lord grant us many holy religious vocations

Ora pro invicem!

May God richly bless you in your chosen vocation. Obviously they saw something in you that led them to accept you. Congratulations!!

Three men from a single parish!? God bless you!

Oh, don’t think I was trying to dis Nebraska. I prefer rural places, but all my friends are running headlong to cities and think I’m crazy.

And you guys must LOVE the Huskers, the stadium is absolutely HUGE compared to the size of the city.

As someone mentioned above, it has been moved. I’m not sure of the exact reason, but I remember some of the seminarians being happy because, from what I understand, it wasn’t the most traditional looking place.

Thank you all so much for your prayers, you will all be in mine, too!

IMHO It wasn’t. You can find a video of the ordinations on youtube and see it for yourself.

I have met and talked with several seminarians from Denton and I have been impressed with all of them. God Bless you. Pray for all seminarians constantly.

Congrats and God Bless!

Just became a parishioner at our local FSSP parish. Definitely feel at home in the old rite and with our priest. You chose a great group to study and form with. Prayers for you!

Yes, the cathedral in Lincoln is rather… odd… but Bp. Bruskewitz was fantastic!
