Congratulations, and God bless you in your vocation. We need as many holy and well-formed priests as we can get and, by all accounts I have seen, they do a good job of that.
 
To my knowledge, the FSSP will only be using St. Cecilia’s in Omaha in 2014. They will then return to Lincoln’s cathedral (unfortunately). They used St. Cecilia’s once before in 2005, I believe, and it was a beautiful ordination.

Yes, Bishop Bruskewicz was a fantastic bishop, but Bishop Conley has been great as well. Lincoln has been very blessed with good bishops.

The celebrant for the ordinations in 2014 will be Bishop Athanasius Schneider from Astana, Kazakhstan, who is phenomenal. I can’t wait. And if you haven’t heard of Bishop Schneider, you’ve got to read his book *Dominus Est *about reception of the Holy Eucharist. Oh, I haven’t been to mass at St. Cecilia’s in years- I should make the two hour trip one of these days soon.

And Nebraska is a great place- let us know when you get there and we’ll send you some official Cornhusker regalia! You’ll fit right in, then. 🙂 And congratulations, by the way! Keeping you in my prayers.

Give them humility, meekness, prudence, and a burning zeal for souls. Fill their hearts with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to know and love the Church, that they may always and everywhere speak, act, and think with her, the glorious spouse of Christ. Teach them generosity and detachment from worldly goods; but above all, teach them to know You and to love the One and Only Eternal Priest, good Shepherd of Souls, hear this my prayer for saintly priests. Amen.

I’ve been a member of the Confraternity since Feb. 20, 2008 and only missed the daily prayers twice. 😃

I was raised hearing solely Novus Ordo Masses and I was contemplating the diocesan priesthood for some time (since about 15 or 16). But then I saw the 1962 liturgy (on the internet 😛 ) and I was taken. Can’t really describe exactly what it was to be honest, I just knew that is what I wanted to do. For some reason, there are just about no Tridentine Masses in my area, so the first one I physically went to was actually during my visit to the FSSP seminary. For that reason, I was virtually sure I would be turned down, but the vocations priest told me that it wouldn’t hurt to apply, and I did. I have no idea what it was that made them accept me, my application was inadequate, my interview was weak, I have pretty much no experience with the Tridentine Mass, I don’t have an impressive academic record, but they still let me in! Thanks be to God!

Anyway, there are about 20 guys going in with me. I hope you can offer your prayers for the formation of my brother seminarians and I!
