Congratulations, and God bless you in your vocation. We need as many holy and well-formed priests as we can get and, by all accounts I have seen, they do a good job of that.

To my knowledge, the FSSP will only be using St. Cecilia’s in Omaha in 2014. They will then return to Lincoln’s cathedral (unfortunately). They used St. Cecilia’s once before in 2005, I believe, and it was a beautiful ordination.

Yes, Bishop Bruskewicz was a fantastic bishop, but Bishop Conley has been great as well. Lincoln has been very blessed with good bishops.

The celebrant for the ordinations in 2014 will be Bishop Athanasius Schneider from Astana, Kazakhstan, who is phenomenal. I can’t wait. And if you haven’t heard of Bishop Schneider, you’ve got to read his book *Dominus Est *about reception of the Holy Eucharist. Only $7.20 on Amazon now - amazon.com/Dominus-Reflections-Bishop-Central-Communion/dp/0977884619/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1377820706&sr=1-1&keywords=dominus+est

Congrats! 👍

How exciting for you. Praying for you and other seminarians, that you all become holy priests.

Congrats! I’ve known a couple young men here in Omaha who weren’t accepted in the past, so you must’ve done something right! 👍 We’ve got three seminarians from our parish that are in Denton now (one of them is a deacon to be ordained next year - Rev. Joshua Passo), so I know you’ll be in good company. Who knows, maybe I’ll get to meet you at the ordinations next year, which will be at our very own St. Cecilia’s Cathedral in Omaha!

May God bless you in your vocation, and please keep my family in your prayers!

BTW, it’s not so bad here in Nebraska. Just think, you’ll only be about 10 minutes away from Memorial Stadium to see the Huskers play! 😉
Oh, I haven’t been to mass at St. Cecilia’s in years- I should make the two hour trip one of these days soon.

And Nebraska is a great place- let us know when you get there and we’ll send you some official Cornhusker regalia! You’ll fit right in, then. 🙂 And congratulations, by the way! Keeping you in my prayers.

O, Jesus, Eternal High Priest, I offer You through Your Immaculate Mother Mary, Your own Precious Blood, in all the Masses throughtout the world, as petition for graces for all seminarians, Your future priests, especially for…

Give them humility, meekness, prudence, and a burning zeal for souls. Fill their hearts with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to know and love the Church, that they may always and everywhere speak, act, and think with her, the glorious spouse of Christ. Teach them generosity and detachment from worldly goods; but above all, teach them to know You and to love the One and Only Eternal Priest, good Shepherd of Souls, hear this my prayer for saintly priests. Amen.

Shameless plug alert:

For those who really appreciate the ministry of the priests of he Priestly Fraternity of St Peter, I encourage you the join the Confraternity of St Peter where members pray every day, following a decade of the Rosary, this wonderful prayer for the priests:
O Lord Jesus, born to give testimony to the Truth, Thou who lovest unto the end those whom Thou hast chosen, kindly hear our prayers for our pastors.
Thou who knowest all things, knowest that they love Thee and can do all things in Thee who strengthenest them.
Sanctify them in Truth. Pour into them, we beseech Thee, the Spirit whom Thou didst give to Thy apostles, who would make them, in all things, like unto Thee.
Receive the homage of love which they offer up to Thee, who hast graciously received the threefold confession of Peter.
And so that a pure oblation may everywhere be offered without ceasing unto the Most Holy Trinity, graciously enrich their number and keep them in Thy love, who art one with the Father and the Holy Ghost, to whom be glory and honour forever.
Amen.

I’ve been a member of the Confraternity since Feb. 20, 2008 and only missed the daily prayers twice. 😃

I am entering the FSSP seminary in a short 12 days, I can’t wait! I’m the only kid in the world excited to go to Nebraska for seven years, lol!

I was raised hearing solely Novus Ordo Masses and I was contemplating the diocesan priesthood for some time (since about 15 or 16). But then I saw the 1962 liturgy (on the internet 😛 ) and I was taken. Can’t really describe exactly what it was to be honest, I just knew that is what I wanted to do. For some reason, there are just about no Tridentine Masses in my area, so the first one I physically went to was actually during my visit to the FSSP seminary. For that reason, I was virtually sure I would be turned down, but the vocations priest told me that it wouldn’t hurt to apply, and I did. I have no idea what it was that made them accept me, my application was inadequate, my interview was weak, I have pretty much no experience with the Tridentine Mass, I don’t have an impressive academic record, but they still let me in! Thanks be to God!

Anyway, there are about 20 guys going in with me. I hope you can offer your prayers for the formation of my brother seminarians and I!

Saint John Vianney, pray for us!
