Excommunicate NY politicians

What’s wrong with this picture? Catholics in political power actively working against the church.

Why NOT excommunicate them. . . especially when the situation is so very clear-cut?

I would excommunicate Cuomo in a New York minute!

Aren’t they already excommunicated latae sentenae? I think you mean when the Bishop openly proclaims to the public that so and so is excommunicated.

I know that basically everyone who is involved in an abortion are excommunicated latae sentenae, but I never heard about politicians who bring about gay marriage being entitled to an automatic excommunication. However, I am sure that most bishops would bar them from receiving the Eucharist.
