I was already aware of sedavacantism, but I didn’t imagine there were Byzantine-rite sedavacantists!
In this day and age, it’s ironic that some folks think that Catholics loyal to the Holy See aren’t Catholic enough.🤷

Sure, they can excommunicate if they want. Who wants to be part of their “church” anyway?

Truth be told, I was once declared an autocephalous Orthodox Catholic Patriarch of western Canada by a vagante clergyman.

Now, while I’ve no doubt that “ordination” wasn’t valid, you just can’t be sure, can you?

So, if it IS valid, then I, the Supreme Catholicos-Patriarch of said jurisdiction, do hereby hurl an anathema against those “monks” noted above for their unprovoked and uncanonical condemnation of my two brother Pontiffs.

They have sixty days to repent, during which time they must present themselves to me in person, or at least email me, to issue an abject apology for their actions.

Given under my hand,

His All-Holiness, Alexios XXV of Toronto
Catholicos-Patriarch of western Canada
and of Bermuda

Is there a canonical way of declaring them to be “doo-doo heads”?

Wry sense of humor aside, is that a true story Alex?!? I gotta love your humor though.

"Furthermore, I, Alexios of said jurisdiction, do earnestly desire to honour Phillip Rolfes, Esq., for his selfless, artistic and church-wide efforts as a beadsman, and do hereby bestow upon him the title:

Revered Master Beadsman Extraordinaire (RMBE) and do hereby inscribe his name in the Book of Famous Rosarians, A Rose By Any Other Name."

Given under my hand and typed with fingers dipped in rose-water,

Yes it is. And thank you. For your loyalty, my son, I will investigate an honour to bestow upon you as well.
  • Alexios

If everyone in Canada has stories like you, I am moving. 👍
If you do, you may have jurisdiction over British Columbia and Vancouver Island. The weather is very nice and you’ll love the Pacific Ocean . . .
  • Alexios (I guess I should stop that, I’ll start to confuse the Traditionalists . . .)

We’ve got a couple of groups like this in New York. When I was in college there was one in peticular, they wore the clerical collar with normal black dress shirts. I made the mistake of asking if he was a protestant…and two hours later…I regret ever meeting the fellow. Groups full of hate and bile for the popes.

Well that gave me a laugh. I’m stuck in Chicago on a layover and needed something to keep me amused!

When I was in PA last year with some friends, they wanted to see a Divine Liturgy. We drove to the first Church we could find which turned out to be run be some fanatical old calendar group. I will never make that mistake again!
