We do quite a lot of this (exegesis of the coming weeks readings and Gospel) in our parish - particularly during the major seasons of Lent and Advent, but also at other times,

Would be interested in hearing of any resources that others use.

Exegesis is a good thing to do ^^

I’ve only ever done it for academic reasons. When I write an exegesis, I often use sources from the Catechism, from papal encyclicals or from commentaries by theologians or scholars.

For commentaries I use: The New Jerome Biblical Commentary and The Oxford Biblical Commentary. However this is for Degree level biblical studies, but I do believe they are helpful to anyone that wishes to study Scripture!
