Exodus 22
1If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

2If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.

3If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

4If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ***, or sheep; he shall restore double.

5If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.

6If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

7If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.

8If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.

9For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ***, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

Does God require restitution from someone like the Mayor of Detroit? He stole the careers of those men and even lied in court to deprive those men of their rightful restitution.

Can you elaborate on this incident?

If the mayor did do that, then he certainly would be held accountable to God for what he does to others. I think God is especially critical of those that use their authority to overrun others.

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is a playboy of sorts, “wild party” at the mayor’s mansion, taking trips at tax payer’s expense, buying a car for his wife with city money, having an affair with someone he works with, etc., He fired some police officers who were investigating him or investigating his security team. In a court case for wrongful firing of those officers they both lied about NOT having said affair. Texting messages have come to light that proves beyond doubt he was in fact having said affair, thus perjury.
Mayor Accused of Using Tax Funds for Personal Trips

A new report says Detroit’s mayor and an aide used taxpayer’s money for personal trips. The story is published in the Detroit Free Press. It comes just days after a prosecutor launched an investigation into allegations that Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and Chief of Staff Christine Beatty lied under oath about an affair. The paper examined thousands of text messages and found several discussing romantic getaways to places like Houston, West Virginia and “the islands.”

So what exactly is the question? His actions show where his heart lies. The God of Judgment and Mercy will judge him just as he judges you and I - even moreso because he is a public authority.

Sounds like “the man” follows in the footsteps of some of the leading politicos in leading cities of our great nation, like Chicago, New York, etc. It has been a problem that crops up every so often in the history of most major cities. Used to be white men, and now apparently, in these days of equal opportunity, some of the brothers have joined them. So what is the question?

As evidenced in Africa, Asia, and Latin American, the abuse of the common man by public officials knows no racial barriers.
