I think that the majority of American Catholics are familiar with the medal of St. Benedict. However, because St. Benedict’s exorcism prayer is engraved in Latin on the medal, it is a shame that most English-speaking Christians have not learned this powerful prayer in English. This included myself until a few days ago, when the idea dawned on me during Eucharistic Adoration to learn and pray the prayer in my vernacular.

I have added an invocation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, bearing in mind the words of St. Maximilian Kolbe who assures us: “It is the Immaculata alone who has from God the promise of victory over Satan.”

This is how I pray St. Benedict’s exorcism prayer very often:

"May the Holy Cross by my light.
May the dragon never be my guide.
Step back Satan.
Never tempt me with your vanities.
What you offer me is evil.
Through the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, drink your own poison."

Please join me in praying this prayer!! As someone who has witnessed activity of the evil spirits that many would prefer not to believe, I promise you that Satan’s trepidation regarding this exorcism prayer is off the charts!! The Immaculata will crush his head, and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the world will come to fruition just as Our Lady of Fatima promised!!

The St. Benedict medal is an amazing medal containing a very powerful prayer though prayers for spiritual warfare of the laity should never be confused with exorcism, solemn or minor. There are other prayers for spiritual battle that are approved for the laity and go very well with this prayer and sacramental, check out http://www.auxiliumchristianorum.org

Thank you for your prayers. May God deliver you from evil
