Someone told me that they were going to give me some exorcism water. I never heard of it. Anyone know what it is?

I suppose I could just google it but that wouldn’t be any fun. 😛

I’d be more concerned with why they thought you needed it!

Our pastor still blesses holy water with this old rite. I have an interesting little tale, whether it is co-incidence or real, I am not quite sure. I have one daughter that is not comfortable being in the dormer in an upstairs room. She has felt an evil presence there. Whether her feelings are imagined or not I do not know. Anyway, we were preparing the upstairs room for my older daughter’s visit. The day before she arrived I made sure to put holy water (blessed using the old rite) in the font just outside that dormer room. When she arrived, she and I were sitting on the bed in that little dormer room catching up on family matters. Just after I had mentioned the devil (when speaking about my concern over a son who had been in a band and had seen pictures and posts for his former band members ) the holy water started to pour out of the font. It had been in that font for over 24 hours and had not spilt but just moments after the devil was mentioned it began to pour out of the font. No one was even near it. No one was even in the adjacent room. My daughter jumped up and said , “what’s that? how did that happen?” She straightened the plastic insert and noted that the font hand been secured with a screw to keep it from moving. I never even mentioned my other daughter’s uneasiness about that room because I didn’t want to frighten her about staying in that room. She shivered then dipped her finger in the font and made the sign of the cross. We had previously noticed that the holy water in that font dries up after three days, when other fonts around the house last longer, almost a week. A daughter who used to stay in the adjacent room assumed that the heat from an electric heater probably caused it to evaporate quickly. But that heater is no farther away that the heat register downstairs from another holy water font. This was the first time we actually saw the water pour from it. It is a mystery. And if it is something supernatural, I don’t understand it.

This is the case.

She is an 85 years old head sacristan at a large parish, takes her ministry very seriously and serves with great reverence, a very close friend of mine. Her experience is a source of expertise even to the local priests and she has met three Popes. Pope Paul VI laid his hands on her and prayed over her.

I have a daughter going off to college and spoke to her about using holy water on her dorm room the day she moves in, having a friend’s condo which had been broken into blessed by a priest, a mutual friend who is straying from the faith, etc. She has a gallon of the stuff and said, “I’m not going to be around long enough to use all of it.”

Thank you for the wonderful answer.
