Theophilus,
My wife (still protestant) and I were watching one of those movies in it where a Catholic priest performs an exorcism. She made a typical protestant comment and said, “there those Catholics go again with their exorcism. How silly, everyone knows it’s so false and unbiblical.” Well I couldn’t take it so I said, “Have you ever read in the Bible where demons were cast of people?”
OK, I won this argument without a fight. She just said she never thought about it and just blindly repeated her protestant propaganda without thinking about it. Now we both wonder why protestants stopped performing exorcisms for the most part and bad mouth and make fun of Catholics for doing what is Scripturally based!
Next, we were watching a vampire movie and of course the Church that was combating the vampires was the Catholic Church. We both commented on how in the movies its almost always the Catholic priest in the movies and a Catholic church that is used as the backdrop for the fight against evil. We both noticed how you rarely if ever see a Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran or “nondenominational denomination” preacher combating the evil either. Why? Because the only Christian Church prior to 1517 was in fact the Catholic Church! Even though “Hollyweird” (Hollywood) is usually anti-Catholic they admit by default that the only Christian Church before 1517 was the Catholic Church.
