My wife and I left the cult called Mormonism or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The members of that cult disowned me and my wife, and then spread vicious rumors about us (the bishop’s wife was the instigator of the most heinous lies). Those who had been our close friends, who had shared the hospitality of our table, drove by our home shouting epithets and throwing on our lawn the things we had loaned to them in love and friendship.
It only solidified our resolve to leave such a group of ignorant, bigoted fools.
