Jim believes that solutions will be found using a progressive approach to policy that prioritizes fairness and justice, focused on four major themes:
Refocusing America’s foreign and defense policies in a way that truly protects our national interests and seeks harmony where they are not threatened.
I read this as cut and run in Iraq, take our problems to the UN for resolution, no more backing Israel in things like their war with Lebanon. If that is what you want you got your man.
Repairing the country’s basic infrastructure, which has eroded badly over the past decade, and developing more creative ways to assist disaster-stricken areas such as those in New Orleans and along the Gulf coast.
I read this as more federal dollars going into expensive projects that the states could better handle. Again if you want the feds involved in every public construction project forcing the project to use union labor, unrealistic work rules, and producing a sub-standard product you got your man.
Reinstituting notions of true fairness in American society, including issues of race, class, and economic advantage;
Read more laws about hiring minorities, more costly paperwork, more promisses to the people in the ‘projects’, more free rides for the ‘underprivileged’ to be over seen by a huge bureaucracy funded by taxes on the middle class.
Restoring the Constitutional role of the Congress as an equal partner, reining in the unbridled power of the Presidency.
Meaning congress will micro-manage everything until there is a Democrat in the White House and then if they control congress too they will see nothing, hear nothing and certanly speak no evil of the person in the White House.
These are just my opinions.
Just remember the most feared words in the English language are, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.”
