Suddenly hit with a question from a non-Catholic about tye Catholic view of God’s will. I tend to be very intellectual about these things… I told her about Go’s perfect will for us and how because of sin entering the world, Hos whole plan was messed up; that He always sends us gr aces to cope; that ideally we will have practiced beforehand on smaller things than death…

But I didn’t touch upon God’s great love for us, suffering as a way of bringing us closer to Him or of atonement for sin, Christ’s sacrifice for us.

I want to tell her more and thought I would ask about a good way to present all this to her.

Thanks so much for any help, advice, and/or prayers for her and for her friend.

I really enjoyed reading Richard Leonard SJ’s short book “Where the hell is God?” on this matter.

What is Truth? Who is God? Who is Man?

What is a worldview?

Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?

Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview, and because of this, today’s believers live very similarly to non-believers. A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life’s ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation.

The Truth Project is an innovative DVD curriculum that teaches viewers how to develop a systematic and comprehensive biblical worldview.

Educator Dr. Del Tackett is both engaging and winsome as he teaches Christians to apply biblical truths to every area of life.

As it has been throughout history, God continues to call ordinary people to make an eternal difference in our world.

I first explore their relationship with God … I kinda follow the Creed; whoso you believe God is, who is Jesus, who is theHoly spirit … Ect.

My BFF’s dad died last Sat. Anyways, she talking withher about what she believed, I discovered she had No relationship withGod. She was very blank whenpeople said, “your dad was saved by Jesus”. I told her it was ok she was blank because prior to herDads death she never had a relationship with God … It’s like telling her that she and herDad are going to Mars to create afamily with the Martians. She agreed that’s what shefelt like. Anyways, I planted seeds like, “Who is God”, " does the body have a spirit", “where does the spirit go after it separates from the body?”

She’s open to the Church, and I did strongly mention that we respect the body because we believe in the ressurection of the body … Which got us to the tangent of a zombie appacolitse (sp!!!) … Anyways she seemed to rethink her desire to split up her dad’s ashes.

I guess I plan to follow the creed to introduce her to God verbally… Then askif she would meet God, and if she’s up for it take her to Adoration. I also know the. RCIA lady, so if she’s ready, introduce them

I’m more challenged with comforting my SIL who seems to know everything, does everything by herself, and comes across as superior … Leaving me afraid to give my condolances to her and her family (her mom died this morning)

My friend has some understanding of generic Christian teachings, but I suspect that she does not have an understanding of how much what society considers the normal way of thinking is anti-thetical to Christianity.

I don’t know exactly how to explain to her what I want to say…
