Hi Monica, I have a 5 year old as well. We talk about God all the time and he asks about Heaven as well. I say “Heaven is where God is. We think of it as up in the sky,farther away than any of us can see, it is past the clouds, past the moon, past all the planets and stars .” ( He is quite okay with that)
or “We can’t travel to heaven from earth until we die. It’s in another world.”
I always tell him that heaven is a good and normal place to be, “Everyone dies eventually. God loves us and wants us to be with him when we die. When we get to heaven we will be very happy to be there.”
He has never asked if God is dead, but I suppose if he did I would say no, he has always been in Heaven .
