Explanation of prayers

There are two prayers that I’m struggling to more fully understand and thus have trouble praying them, despite the fact that they are more regularly used. Hopefully you can shed the light on what they mean:

1.) In the salve Regina we pray that Mary would, “after this, our exile, show unto us the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.” What does that mean? In Heaven, why will we need Mary to “show us Jesus?”

2.) In the Gloria, in Mass, we pray that “You alone are the Holy One, You alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God, the Father.” It seems like we’re praying to Jesus, but Jesus alone isn’t God, is He? I mean, he is, of course, fully God, but wouldn’t praying that seem to exclude the Father and Holy Spirit? Jesus alone isn’t God, but rather only with the Father and Holy Spirit–so what does that part of the Gloria mean?

in my lowly opinion—our exile–refers to our various states of sins—
“the fruit” refers to virtues…with which our Blessed Mother will help
us attain.

as far as the Gloria–i think it’s necessary to remember–our human minds are not
capable of understanding the Trinity—by faith we believe and trust that this Mystery
of 3 persons in One God–is just that --a mystery we can never really see…until our
resurrection.
i hope this helps–i don’t claim that it is THE answer.

They way I’ve always understood it, was that it was Mary’s fiat that allowed Jesus to enter this world. So, in a sense, she was the gate that He came to us through. We honor her role in the incarnation, bringing Jesus to us in this life, by asking her to also be the one that shows Him to us in the next life. Do we need her to do that? No. But, I sure find it assuring to think that I’m not going to have to face Jesus in His full glory alone. Our Mother will be there to hold my hand as I fall to my knees and shield my eyes in awe, so to speak…

Just do what so many do in Mass and rush to get through the prayer… if you say “JesusChristwiththeHolySpiritinthegloryofGodtheFather” fast enough it becomes more apparent that we are addressing all three persons as one…
