Explanation of the Holy Spirit

Are we supposed to pray to the Holy Spirit. From what’s i have understood the Holy Spirit guides you and gives you life. Can someone please explain fully what it is and if we are to pray to it
 
You can certainly pray to the Holy Spirit, just like God the Father or God the Son/Jesus Christ
