“If a host or any particle should fall, it is picked up reverently,” and if the precious blood falls to the floor, it is to be washed with water and the water poured into the sacrarium in the sacristy.

The Church takes great lengths to care for the host or Christ’s blood when it falls on the floor because the Church firmly believes in the words of Jesus, “this is my body, this is my blood.”

Yes.

I just fail to understand how the water used to clean the spot where the precious blood was spilled can be put into the sacrarium.

Why’s that? That’s what the sacrarium is for. What else should we do with the water?

Thank you Fr. but that’s not what I mean.

Presumably the water which one will use to clean the spot where the precious blood has spiled will be on the floor. How are we going to transfer the water which is on the floor to the sacrarium?

Wipe it up with purificators. Soak the purificators. Pour out the water into the sacrarium.

I remember seeing one of the monks at my abbey cleaning a spot where some of the Precious Blood had spilled. He did it with such reverence and love that even if you had been non-Catholic and had no understanding of the Eucharist, you would have known that he was dealing with something special.
