(The respectful term is “Baha’i Faith.”)

Christians should remember that Baha’u’llah confirmed the accuracy of the Gospels as written. We should also remember that he forcefully reserved Divine Certitude for himself alone.

Abdul-Baha was a very devout man and an essential founder of the Baha’i Faith. That this Faith chose to grant him certitude is understandable, but, in my opinion, not valid. We should also understand that Abdul-Baha was writing “Some Answered Questions” at a time when the infant Baha’i Faith needed support from the so-called “rational” elements of European society. His writings served their purpose at that time, but now stand in the way of better rapport between faiths, (I might be in trouble for saying this, but I think that the Christian Church’s grant of certitude to St. Paul is a parallel situation.)

I for one choose to overlook (what I see as) a few erroneous statements by Abdul-Baha. I focus on the profound statements and edicts of Baha’u’llah.
I take the Baha’i Faith quite seriously. World Government is our Creator’s plan for humanity. I see a deep resistance to this idea in many Christians. Will it take a global nuclear war to get us to change our minds?
God bless you 🙂

Thank you for teaching me acceptance and detachment from all things save God dear Jeffrey…

Personal Interpretation destroys the word of God.

**knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.

2 Peter 1:20

speaking of these things in all his letters. Some things in these letters are hard to understand, things the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they also do to the rest of the scriptures.

2 Peter 3:16**
Yes I’m aware of these verses but then how do you read and understand? For instance when Christ says to ‘let the dead bury the dead’ are you supposed to take it literally or does someone else decide how to understand it?

Hi Joey,

Bahaullah speaks of paradise. The all highest paradise? Maids of Heaven?

I had a dream once I met the Maids of Heaven when I died. After I died I experienced the joy of a nuclear explosion. A nuclear explosion of joy. Then I became aware I had fulfilled my ‘mission’? And I shouted YES triumphantly. Then I tried waving my hands to try and move but a ‘presence’ sent me the thought to just ‘think’ and I would be there. So I though Haifa, Israel and I was there instantly. Then I was beckoned by the Maids of Heaven who were at a fountain and told I had to be cleansed of earthly defilements after which they pointed to a pathway and said that Baha’u’llah was awaiting me. I really thought I had died and so was unhappy that I had to return. I was so sure it was real. This is the first I’ve I’ve ever shared this with anyone so publicly.

“Blessed is the soul which, at the hour of its separation from the body, is sanctified from the vain imaginings of the peoples of the world. Such a soul liveth and moveth in accordance with the Will of its Creator, and entereth the all-highest Paradise. The Maids of Heaven, inmates of the loftiest mansions, will circle around it, and the Prophets of God and His chosen ones will seek its companionship.”

With them that soul will freely converse, and will recount unto them that which it hath been made to endure in the path of God, the Lord of all worlds. (Baha’u’llah)
When you went to Heaven and saw Baha’u’llah where were the rest of the “Manifestations.” ???

I know we are speaking about Bahai in this thread but what are some things, concepts, ideas that our Catholic brothers feel we need to learn and would like to teach us?

Please teach me something that your heart really feels it wants to help me understand and I will try to learn from you. A humble posture of learning for a better word.

So please teach us some things and share us more of your beliefs.

That’s a wonderful story. Thanks so much for sharing it. I believe that your dream was a true vision. No one here should criticize such a personal divulgence.

My thought is that we should all keep in mind that devout men can make mistakes. The very first to be noted, of course, are those of Adam and Eve. Then Scripture mentions how Aaron collected gold and cast an effigy of a calf. Further on we find Aaron together with Miriam criticizing Moses about his Cushite wife.
YHWH said, “. . .How then have you dared to speak against my servant Moses?”

Moses himself errored in the famous waters of Meribah story.

Thank you Jimmy 🙂

What is the purpose of this incorruptible body Jimmy?
What function does it serve in heaven?

.
Servant, I’m talking about the resurrection of the body is an essential Christian doctrine. Compared to your comment that you said Jesus’ resurrection is un-Biblical

Don’t you get it…if Jesus resurrected with a Glorified body that people can see and touch it becomes less plausible that he could Manifest himself into Muhammad.

David, what a dream dear friend, very special indeed.

Yabaha’ul’abha to that one.

You said that, as it is not written in the Bahai Writings.

You would also be saying Material Hands and Eyes are of use in Spiritual matters. Read a bit about Inattentional Blindness, you will note as sight is just reflection of light, we all see things different and we do not see everything if our Frame of Reference is different.

(Oops, had to take mom to her salon, so I quote myself here.)

“In His own servants God puts no trust,
and even with His angels He has fault to find.” Job 4:18

Perhaps the most famous story where a Man of God makes a mistake is that of the Prophet Jonah.

Then we have Rabbi Yeshu’s observation: “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone…”

Dare I say that I disagree with some of the things that St. Paul said? For instance the Law forbids the cutting of men’s hair or the trimming of beards (Lev. 19:27)
Rabbi Yeshu’s miraculous photograph confirms that He wore His hair long.

Even the Baha’i Faith seems to think that Mohammed made a mistake when he said that Isa was not himself crucified and that some one took His place.

Point being that a human being, even though a holy teacher of religion, may still on, rare occasions, make an error.

Jeffery I can clear that up - We believe both the Koran and the Bible, both tell the same Spiritual Story in a different frame of reference, but it is the same story.

Christ is of the Holy Spirit it was not killed and Christ is as real today as he was 2000 years ago. the temple of the Spirit in our opinion has been put to rest some where on this earth and I know you do not see it this way.

Yes a Baha’i has an explanation that unites Christ with Muhammad and in doing that you would expect that a Christian and a Muslim would not accept the view, unless they changed their frame of reference.

Gods free will is available to all, it is our blessing and our downfall depending on how we use it.

Regards to you and your Just and searching Soul 😉 👍 (Sorry had to throw in a teaser of a thought at the end) 😊

Regards Tony

one thing i have learned from this thread is that the bahai know next to nothing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

this explains their confusion as to the divine mysteries since the divine mysteries are fully revealed only by and through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Good morning to you Eddie, always good to see you post 😉

You have made me very Happy, think of your fellow believers in the first few years after the Sacrifice of Jesus the Christ. They too would have had that bounty of these refreshing comments.

They are refreshing as you may note that history has proven and still proves that opposition to Faith but makes it grow 😉 God works in mysterious ways indeed!

God Bless and regards Tony

Later when this thread wears itself out can we please start one called ‘interpreting the Bible’ or ‘interpreting’ because interpretations are what divide religions between each other and causes sects and everyone on this planet claims to have the correct interpretation of truth so I’d like to know how people especially Catholics interpret and what the Bible says about interpretation and exchange views on the topic of interpretation.

Only if people are interested but it would fascinate me personally as we all think so differently.
Please allow me to put in a plug for my interpretation of passages that I believe describe the advent of WW III, a global nuclear war.
Visit Tony’s thread: “End Times Speculation the alternate approach”: #48 (WW III) and post #52 (There will only be one more pope after Pope Francis.)

Jeffery, there is an event to come, still unknown it is only described like this;

“The world is in travail, and its agitation waxeth day by day. Its face is turned towards waywardness and unbelief. Such shall be its plight, that to disclose it now would not be meet and seemly. Its perversity will long continue. And when the appointed hour is come, there shall suddenly appear that which shall cause the limbs of mankind to quake. Then, and only then, will the Divine Standard be unfurled, and the Nightingale of Paradise warble its melody”.

There are Pilgrims notes (not authentic writings) that describe what we may be going to face, it is more of the vision that you are thinking about;

'…the cities are doomed - New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles. They must flee from the United States, because America will become the storm center of the future…"

“…It is positively dangerous to live in Cities. The cities are doomed. They will go up in smoke. They will evaporate. People are flocking to churches through fear. Americans must have a totally new way of life, become a new race of men wholly devoted souls, devoted to God and His ways. They must get to a simpler way of life. The standards of America must be lowered - have fewer luxuries. It would be better for the Americans to go back to the old ways, live a more easy life and stop tearing around to make money…”

As I said, not official writings, but you may like to browse through them, you will note they reflect the world as it is and where it is going - bahai-library.com/brown_haifa_notes
