I spoke to him and he stated that he would be agreeable to do it. He stated that he knows how important it is to me. Thank you for the advice. I am taking him to Mass on Sunday. He is willing to be open about it, which I am grateful for.

I I got married two months ago. After being married, I asked myself, how am i going to raise the children? I knew that was important. My husband is an athiest. He said that I will be in charge of raising the children in the religion of my choice. I thank God for that.

thanks for your testimony, I think getting married is one of the natural times to start asking these questions, esp. about raising the children. my advice would be to ask about an adult confirmation or RCIA class at your closest parish, although they may not be starting until Aug. or Sept. This will give you a chance to ask questions that you never could in your earlier years, and come back to those questions and issues with an adult understanding. From there, you can decide and get advice from the pastor on your next steps.

I called 2 churches in my area. I told them that I was looking into becoming a Catholic.

You said you were baptized Catholic, so you don’t need to become a Catholic. Be sure and clarify that to the priest.

In the meantime, I think it would be a good idea to start reading through the Catechism, starting at the beginning. And ask any questions that come to mind here.

While I have been researching things, I have noticed that Catholics do not want a Catholic going to other worship services of other Christian denominations. Do other Christian denominations feel the same way about their members going to a Catholic church?

While I have been researching things, I have noticed that Catholics do not want a Catholic going to other worship services of other Christian denominations. Do other Christian denominations feel the same way about their members going to a Catholic church?

Catholics may attend other Christian churches but we may not participate in their holy communion because they do not have a valid priesthood so their communions are not the Eucharist–no transubstantiation takes place (except for the Orthodox churches). For Catholics the Eucharist is the sign of unity, so anyone who receives it is saying he believes in all the Catholic Church teaches. Obviously, Catholics do not believe in all that Protestant churches teach.

Each Protestant denomination has its own guidelines about attending other Christian services. Some are very open to their members attending the Catholic Liturgies, including the Mass while others are violently opposed. You’d have to ask each one where it stands on the issue.
