The article reads, they think this is intentional, not the usual gas explosion.

Explosion in downtown Nashville damages buildings Christmas morning, visitors evacuated

Yihyun Jeong and Brinley Hineman, Nashville Tennessean 13 mins ago

NASHVILLE – Nashville authorities believe an explosion that occurred in downtown Nashville early Christmas morning that was felt for miles was an “intentional act” and sparked by a vehicle.

Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked outside the AT&T building just before 6 a.m. Upon arrival, police said an officer “had reason” to alert the department’s hazardous devices unit, which was en route, when a “significant explosion” happened.

Police and firefighters responded to an area near Second Avenue and Commerce Street about 6:45 a.m. Friday. Officials are on the scene trying to put out the fire and see if anyone is inside the building.

Seems like the Police were the target. The vehicle exploded after they were on the scene. Hopefully none of them were hurt. Praying for all of those that were injured.

3 injured, that’s about the latest I have heard, we will see if anything else comes out. Thank God, nobody was killed.

There’s a story in the Nashville Tennessean that this lady nearby heard gunshots st 4:30 am and then a recording from an RV saying it was going to explode.

She evacuated, and was returning when nothing happened. Then, the explosion.

I’m hoping our new neighbors are alright, and imagine they are. They are originally from Nashville, and lived down town. They are visiting family for the holidays in that city.

Yes, there was a recording telling people to evacuate and a bomb would explode in 15 minutes. Human remains have been discovered. The bomb was inside an RV.

Evidently, they didn’t want human casualties. Just property damage and causing terror. Sad they chose to do this Christmas morning.

Right outside an AT&T infrastructure building.

Cell service still down in some areas.

So, scary in terms of the ability to bring down communications hubs.
