Tradition has a strong following. All the more urgent the SSPX regularize its status for the betterment of the whole church!

I attended an SSPX low Mass a couple of weeks ago. One of my friends who is a regular down there told me that they are trying to get a bigger church because they are running out of room.

I believe it too.

If you are talking about the chapel in Garden Home, I have been there a few times and it was packed.

I attend the largest SSPX parish in Australia. Our church would hold I guess 300-400 people and we have two masses on Sunday. Both are overflowing, and growing.

The SSPX chapel which used to be near our former home was always extremely crowded, if you didn’t get there early you didn’t get a seat!

And let me tell you, no one does the TLM as well and as reverentially as they do. After all, its their signature “issue”. Its their raison d’etre, so to speak!

I attended an SSPX mass last week and the chapel was extremely small, LOL. About 20 people, if that.

My cousins pointed this out to me last October, and I’ll expect them to tell me again soon.

I have never attended a mass by the SSPX. However, the local FSSP chapel nearby is packed every time I go and there are big families and lots of young people too! There is also a 7:30p.m. contemplative OF mass in town that is also usually full. Spokane is a pretty great city for traditional Catholicism. The new Bishop was supposed to be hostile to tradition but he really hasn’t been all that bad. I think he even participated in a Latin mass recently.

How was it?
It was a low mass - my favorite (ha ha). However, the homily was excellent, at least 30 minutes and I really saw some providence in this because the homily pretty much was an SSPX apologetics talk. So I learned a lot from the “horses mouth” as opposed to third-parties on this forum.

Afterwards I hung out with some of the folks for a good 3-4 hours.

My impression: folks who are really serious about God. Some diehards (as in, some will not attend an OF mass ever).

All in all, a very positive experience.

Porselytizing for the SSPX is not allowed. Please follow the rules and use the menu that I posted for reference when starting a new thread. Thank you.
