I’m Pro-Life but I don’t like the idea of using Satan’s tools to do God’s work.
According to a recent Planned Parenthood email, a 17-year-old girl mistakenly walked into a crisis pregnancy center thinking it was Planned Parenthood, which was next door. “The group took down the girl’s confidential personal information and told her to come back for her appointment, which they said would be in their ‘other office’ (the real Planned Parenthood office nearby).”
When she showed up for her nonexistent appointment, she was met by the police, who had been erroneously tipped that a minor was being forced to abort. ***The crisis pregnancy center staff followed up this harassment by staking out the girl’s house, phoning her father at work, and even talking to her classmates about her pregnancy, urging them to harass her. ***
Stuff like this it’s no wonder the Pro-Life movement is a joke. Along with the twin bombings that [Thank the Lord] have passed out of fashion.

I actually clicked around the site you linked too re: the article and frankly I am not to sure of it’s contents or credibility.

An of course just because it has a leftest bent it must automatically be wrong and false…

After all there has never been a single news article published be leftest attacking Conservatives, Protestants or Catholics that had so much as a drop of truth to it.

Am I right guys? Am I right?

There are extremists who are not good examples for either side, but to say that the Pro-Life movement is a joke because of 1 example or even if you can find a few more, seems to indicate that maybe you are not so pro life. Just a guess, please clarify.

The pro life movement’s purpose is to save the most innocent, what is a joke about that even if there are some things you dont like?

That’s the response some get when articles from more conservative sources are posted. If it’s fair criticism then, it’s fair criticism now.

Besides, this isn’t representative of the whole pro-life movement. Should we judge the whole pro-life movement based on those who attack abortion doctors? Was the anti-slavery movement invalid because John Brown committed acts of violence in Kansas and at Harpers Ferry? Of course not.

What was that line about two wrongs and a right again…

An where did I say it was? I said it’s stuff like this that is hurting the Pro-Life movement.

I’ll add that the make excuses for sin when it is in our favor doesn’t help either.

  1. Not really a wrong or right.
  2. Once again, considering the political leanings of that site, it’s debatable how much it hurts the pro-life movement. Maybe if it’s national news covered by the networks.
  3. Not excusing their behavior, but once again it’s not to be taken as what most pro-lifers do.

Maybe this happened and maybe it didn’t. Planned Parenthood isn’t known for it’s dedication to the truth. Even if it did happen, there are bound to be a few nuts in any group, certainly including PP.

You said that the Pro-Life movement is a joke in your first post.

And just curious if the harassment saved the life of the child or she went ahead and killed the baby. Is there a rest of the story?

The site promotes the killing of the most innocent and disguises that as a choice…that is what makes it automatically wrong.

“According to a recent Planned Parenthood email”

OK, right there I have to question the relaibility of this story.

Also, I clicked on the article, and this story is just an opening anecdote to a wider attack on crisis pregnancy centers. I’m sorry, but the pro-aborts were always chiding us pro-lifers for not doing anything to help pregnant women, and when we do, they complain about that, too, making accusations about “fake clinics”. Give me a break.

So please pardon me if I don’t take this article seriously.

Oh, you’re right, I wasn’t trying to comment on the article, I was just responding to the previous post about the website seeming to have just a bit of a leftward slant.

I have been to several pro-life marches to abortion clincs where we walked about a mile or two to the abortion clinic singing and saying the rosary. stood accross the street or to the side of the abortion clinic so not to block the entrance. Continuing to sing songs and recite the rosary.

Now what I have witnessed and I tell you the truth is that at times the workers of the clinic come out and harrass us.

Taking pictures and stating they are going to send then to the press,

I do not know what kind of threat that is but I would welcome press involvement. There is not enough why the march for life rally in Washington DC is probably the largest evry year on Washington but the secular press will not even show it and if they do it’s on page 10.

yelling profanities and stating all priests are child rapists, why even did that at one occassion to our Bishop.

I do not know if it is the prayers they hate or the business they lose while we are there.

If you read the facts it is the pro-lifers that are being attacked on a regular basis not the doctors.

I can’t believe I skipped this part
If a woman who’s had an ultrasound mistakenly thinks she’s had actual prenatal care, she may not go elsewhere for real care. Anti-choicers are banking on the ultrasound’s appeal as a pre-born snapshot machine, though it’s an actual diagnostic tool, or as the Mayo Clinic puts it, “[Ultrasound] isn’t meant primarily to provide parental thrills or souvenir snapshots,” and it’s irresponsible to treat it as if it were. This is especially irresponsible in a setting where clients are being told that Planned Parenthood and other affordable clinics are nothing but abortion mills who want to hurt the woman and the expected baby.
This is something everyone should be worried about on both sides of the abortion debate. I’ve seen this one happen before, a group of concerned Christians at a Pregnancy Crisis Center give ultrasounds convincing the woman she has had prenatal care and ending up losing the baby over easily preventable complications and sometimes the mother dies as well. ( Of course I am Liberal and therefore can not be trusted to ever tell the truth it seems. )

That site seems to have a leftist bent to it.
The author of the article, Amanda Marcotte, had 15 minutes of fame one year ago when she was hired by a presidential candidate to be the campaign blogmaster. She was attacked as anti-Catholic by Bill Donohue and others and the firestorm of criticism forced her resignation.

This sounds dangerous - the mother needs to understand the need to see a doctor for regular prenatal care.

Thanks, this is the rest of the story that the OP conveniently left out

Can you provide actual links to news stories that document this? Exactly where did this happen [city, state] and what 'preventable complication lost either mother or baby?

Where I can point to a California abortion that resulted in the death of young woman given RU 486 a year ago +/-] reported in the mainline media… and more recently in Wisconson where a man spiked his gril-friends drink wih RU 486 causing her to lose her baby …

And in Kansas a judge recently found that planned parenthood ‘manufactured’ medical records to comply with the states reporting laws [after the fact] when the medical records were found incomplete and were under invstigation … hand writing experts indentified the forgeries …

I’d put it in pretty much the same category I put most things from LifeSiteNews—unverifiable from sources less likely to be incredibly invested in pushing a specific agenda.
