I don’t know…I felt very hurt by a particular mutual friend who decided to look away and continue befriending my ex, after he abandoned our family due to an ongoing affair. I felt like this friend was supporting my adulterous ex and not me. Our friendship has not been the same since.

The loss of friendships is quite common in these scenarios, and the taking of sides inevitable. I really shouldn’t be commenting on this thread at all either. The old feelings of extreme hurt and betrayal just get dredged up again.😦
 
I feel horrible for her family that had to suffer from her choices. I am so hopeful that they will heal. I will pray for all families dealing with affairs & divorce. I am currently dealing with a husband that has been having an affair for over a year. We have had 3 very stressful years & I didn’t realize how much he had disconnected himself from our family … I just recently found out & confronted him, he said he knows what he did was wrong & he chooses us. We are in counseling…but he is lying to me & the counselor. I know from phone records that he is still in contact w/ her and his behavior hasn’t changed much. He has new excuses to be out late into the morning or even out all night. so I assume they are together those nights. This has been the worst thing to go through. I thought when I confronted him, he fess up & end it right there. NO he allows it to linger & I am in the dark or so he thinks …
