After Low Mass this morning I was asked if I would like to learn how to serve the Extraordinary Form. I have my first appointment at 9 Monday 🙂

It will change your life. (PM me with any questions).

What a great honour, don’t let it go to your head!

Congratulations. I am sure you will do well. As I am in charge of the servers at my TLM location, fell free to also pm me if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do for you.

This is roughly the same way I was asked to serve the traditional Mass:D. It was before the evening Low Mass and after everyone venerated the relic of a saint (the church has veneration of relics before the Mass everyday) the pastor approached my pew in the front and asked if I wanted to serve the Latin Mass. With happiness and joy I said yes and he told me to meet him in the sacristy after Mass. I did that and he asked for my contact info which he gave to a head server who trained me. This was in August of 2009.

Serving the Mass is a privilege and joy I wouldn’t trade in for anything. This has increased my appreciation for Jesus and has also made me more aware of discerning a vocation. Since serving last year I have matured as a Catholic and as a man.

Good luck with your journey into serving. Study the responses faithfully and read up on the ceremonies of our Church! If you have any questions shoot an email a pm or at my blog.

Thank you everyone, I do indeed feel blessed. I am very excited to meet with Father. I’m a little nervous, its alot more complicated then serving the NO. But I am also very excited.

Father recommended SanctaMissa. I’m reading up on things now.

I am very impressed with that site. I think it will help you a lot.

I’m assuming you are an adult server, but perhaps you would find the story of St. Tarcisius, a boy, inspiring for your new duties anyhow. I still am moved by the story at my age: ewtn.com/library/mary/tarcis.htm

I am impressed with the site as well. Yes I am an adult server, but will definitely check out the story of St. Tarcisius.

Thank you! If you are ever in the Diocese of Greensburg or Pittsburgh Pennsylvania shoot me a PM, I can give the times and places where the Extraordinary Form is offered. 🙂
