Extraordinary Ministers giving blessings?

Before my grandaughter made her first communion, I would have her go up to the priest in my church and get his blessing. She said, “Grandma I go to the person( extraordinary minister of Holy Communion) giving communion for a blessing at my church”. I have a problem with this and I told her, in my church you get your blessing from the priest. I went to her church and I did see this happening, much to my dismay. Am I wrong? Can they give a blessing? It doesn’t seem right to me, if it is allowed.
 
The EMHC do “Blessings” at a nearby parish. EMHC’s are not suppose to do Blessings at all. They are not priests.
