Just want to let people know that Ignatius Press is selling some new books by Pope Benedict right now for deliriously cheap prices.

A School of Prayer and his Fundamental Speeches from Five Decades for $3 each. Hardcover.

The latter book, especially, may contain very good bits and pieces by which we can understand Pope Benedict’s mind and Magisterium. It is a collection of theological speeches he gave in his post as a teacher of theology and, later, as an emeritus of that position.

A free source of pope Benedict’s work is on the Vatican site. Most of his homilies under Audiences deal with theological and exegetical themes.

One of the greatest gifts that Pope Benedict XVI left for the Church was his writings both during and before he became the Pope. Another great gift was his presence and influence at the Vatican II council. And the other major gift he left the Church with was the improvement to the translation of the English language liturgy.

Among other languages. If anything he brought us back to the Latin standard for translations. Not to mention a twitter account in Latin, which is surpassing Polish, Arabic, and German.
