Okay. This is probably something only women should read. Delicate issue. Just to let you know.

I am vehemently opposed to masturbation in all forms. However, is it a mortal sin to scratch down there when there’s a horrible itch? I’m pretty sure it’s a yeast infection or something of that sort.

This has been tormenting me for days. I have tendencies towards scruples/OCD, so please tell me if this is a mortal sin! :o
 
In my opinion, it is not the same as masturbation, i.e. it’s not a sin. Have you seen a doctor about it?

No way in the world this is masturbation! Men scratch all the time because we get itches but we do NOT do it for sexual gratification!
Scratching an itch and seeking sexual pleasure are two entirely different things. By the way I struggle with scrupples/OCD too and I entirely understand where you are coming from.

Scratching an itch (medical or random) is not the same as "scratching the itch.

Avoiding all genital contact for fear of masturbation seems, well, yes, OCD. You must practice proper hygeine, and that requires touching down there. Women who practice sympto-thermal NFP do cervical examinations, and this is not masturbation either.

Relax, scratch your feminine itch discreetly, and see a doc about meds to clear it up.

I suppose I freaked because of the relief felt when the itch was gone…I always thought that any feeling down there was the same thing as masturbation.
