Here’s a photograph of the supernatural orb hovering over the face of the earth.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
Genesis 1:2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over over the face of the waters.

The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit.

The supernatural orb can just as easily hover over water.

The term “Spirit” translates the Hebrew word ruah, which in its’ primary sense, means breath, air, wind.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

The breath of life is the Holy Spirit within each of us which gives us life in this world.

Most people have heard of N.D.E.'s (Near Death Experiences) claiming that their lives had flashed before their eyes. This is the Spirit of truth showing them moments of their lives. I read of one account were these moments were shown in bubbles (orbs). And it was so overwhelming that Jesus had to hold the person up as so their legs would not give in and collapse.

I love to see the truth of scripture in our lives.

John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

He, the Spirit of truth has shown N.D.E.'s moments of their lives - “whatever He hears He will speak”.

Some people who have had a N.D.E. (Near Death Experience) say that they were shown moments of the future.

John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Look, I don’t want to harsh anybody’s mellow, but the paranormal is boring compared to the supernatural. The stuff you are describing is like Amateur Night compared to real visionaries, and Ezekiel and the other prophets were on a whole different level than most visionaries.

(And btw, those “glowing orbs” look like dust motes to me. Which doesn’t necessarily make them spiritually insignificant, because God loves using all sorts of things as signs.)

If you want to read a good commentary on Ezekiel, there are tons of them. St. Gregory the Great did a great series of homilies about it (English translation by Theodora Tomkinson, an Orthodox lady). There are tons of Catholic books drawing together various Ezekiel commentaries, there’s the Navarre Bible to give you references, and so on.

This thread is about the Holy Spirit which is the supernatural and not the paranormal. I’m describing Ezekiel wheels with what we have in the world today. And of course it would not be as much as what had appeared before Ezekiel or other great visionaries. Did you think it would? Did you expect me to have photographs of Father God and the Cherubim as well? I’m making do with what I have. Do you think that you could do any better? I’m showing you real pictures of the Holy Spirit yet you think they look like dust motes! I hardly think that you could do any better than I. If you believe you know of a better interpretation for Ezekiel’s wheels, please share it. Peace!

Ezekiel’s Vision of God (artist rendition based on scripture)

Ezekiel 1:16 "a wheel in the middle of a wheel"

What Ezekiel describes as “a wheel in the middle of a wheel” is obviously orbital.

Here is a real photograph of the face of a spirit in a supernatural orb:

Ezekiel 1:21 "for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels"
Code:
**"for the spirit of the living creature was in the orb"**
What Ezekiel saw with Father God and Cherubim (living creatures) was orbs.

Please look very closely at these orbs below and notice how they resemble an eyeball looking directly at you:

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
1 John 5-6 And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.

What you are looking at with these orbs is the Spirit of truth looking directly at the camera man while bearing witness to him taking the photo. The Spirit of truth is the Holy Spirit.

What Ezekiel saw with Father God and the Cherubim was the Holy Spirit in orbital form.

Note: the Holy Spirit that appeared before Ezekiel with Father God and the Cherubim would have been much more than these photos demonstrate.

Actually, I’ve taken pictures like the ones you’ve posted here. Those glowing things are actually dust mites in the air that are lit up by the camera flash. It’s a well known phenomenon, and occurs all time.

As for the Holy Spirit and Ezekiel’s wheels, I’m not going to argue with you about that. It may certainly be that the wheels were a manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

However, taking that and then saying these glowing orbs people are seeing is actually the Holy Spirit is an enormous leap to take. In fact, what Ezekial had was a vision. Saints have visions of heaven, not ordinary folk, and that’s just a simple fact. Saints have such visions because they’ve come close to God in obedience and righteous faith. Ordinary people have not.

I’m not going to sit here and say people who’ve seen glowing orbs are hallucinating and lying. However, I will say that what they’re seeing is not the Holy Spirit. If it were a vision of heaven, there would be no doubt of it. If what they’re seeing is real and true, I would argue that they are demons. Angels do not reveal themselves normally. It’s just not what they do. Demons do, though, and when they do they normally come as visions of light. If I were one of those people who witnessed such a thing, I would be terribly cautious about how I handled the experience.

So, to sum up: Ezekiel’s wheels may have been the Holy Spirit, sure. The photos you’ve posted are well known to be dust mites lit up by the camera flash. And glowing orbs that people see are likely demonic, and should be considered cautiously, and discussed with a priest/spiritual advisor. When it comes to the supernatural, always err on the side of the Church.

**The scripture that this painting reminds me of is:

The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit.

It is believed that in Ezekiel’s day there was not a word to describe an Orb. So, he described it as “a wheel in the middle of a wheel.” The artist rendition below is based on Ezekiel’s description of what he saw. He saw the Holy Spirit as an Orb.

http://esdotcarter.files.wordpress....pghttp://www.hauntedhovel.com/images/orb9.jpg

What you are looking at here at the top left is Father God on His throne, Cherubim (living creatures), and the Holy Spirit appearing before Ezekiel, a beloved prophet of the Holy Bible. And, at the top right is a real picture of the Holy Spirit.
I am in error by saying that there was no word to describe an orb in Ezekiel’s day. There was a word meaning round, but I believe that It’s usage was uncommon. And this is why I believe Ezekiel would have used the phrase “a wheel in the middle of a wheel” to describe an orb.

Your interpretation of the wheels in incorrect. Here’s the full vision, Ezekiel 1:4-28:
[4] And I saw, and behold a whirlwind came out of the north: and a great cloud, and a fire infolding it, and brightness was about it: and out of the midst thereof, that is, out of the midst of the fire, as it were the resemblance of amber: [5] And in the midst thereof the likeness of four living creatures: and this was their appearance: there was the likeness of a man in them.
[6] Every one had four faces, and every one four wings. [7] Their feet were straight feet, and the sole of their foot was like the sole of a calf’ s foot, and they sparkled like the appearance of glowing brass. [8] And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides: and they had faces, and wings on the four sides, [9] And the wings of one were joined to the wings of another. They turned not when they went: but every one went straight forward. [10] And as for the likeness of their faces: there was the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right side of all the four: and the face of an ox, on the left side of all the four: and the face of an eagle over all the four.
[11] And their faces, and their wings were stretched upward: two wings of every one were joined, and two covered their bodies: [12] And every one of them went straight forward: whither the impulse of the spirit was to go, thither they went: and they turned not when they went. [13] And as for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like that of burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps. This was the vision running to and fro in the midst of the living creatures, a bright fire, and lightning going forth from the fire. [14] And the living creatures ran and returned like flashes of lightning. [15] Now as I beheld the living creatures, there appeared upon the earth by the living creatures one wheel with four faces.
[16] And the appearance of the wheels, and the work of them was like the appearance of the sea: and the four had all one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the midst of a wheel. [17] When they went, they went by their four parts: and they turned not when they went. [18] The wheels had also a size, and a height, and a dreadful appearance: and the whole body was full of eyes round about all the four. [19] And when the living creatures went, the wheels also went together by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels also were lifted up with them. [20] Whithersoever the spirit went, thither as the spirit went the wheels also were lifted up withal, and followed it: for the spirit of life was in the wheels.
[21] When those went these went, and when those stood these stood, and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels also were lifted up together, and followed them: for the spirit of life was in the wheels. [22] And over the heads of the living creatures was the likeness of the firmament, as the appearance of crystal terrible to behold, and stretched out over their heads above. [23] And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other, every one with two wings covered his body, and the other was covered in like manner. [24] And I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, as it were the voice of the most high God: when they walked, it was like the voice of a multitude, like the noise of an army, and when they stood, their wings were let down. [25] For when a voice came from above the firmament, that was over their heads, they stood, and let down their wings.
[26] And above the firmament that was over their heads, was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of the sapphire stone, and upon the likeness of the throne, was a likeness as of the appearance of a man above upon it. [27] And I saw as it were the resemblance of amber as the appearance of fire within it round about: from his loins and upward, and from his loins downward, I saw as it were the resemblance of fire shining round about. [28] As the appearance of the rainbow when it is in a cloud on a rainy day: this was the appearance of the brightness round about.
The Living Creatures in the midst of the cloud are Cherubim, as made clear in Ecclesiasticus 49:10. They had four faces each, which represented the four directions. Likewise, the Wheels each had four faces, also representiong the four directions (North, South, East, West).

Note, wherever the Cherubim went the wheels also went, not the other way around. That is, the Cherubim didn’t go where the Wheels went, the Wheels went wherever the Cherubim went. This implies a hierarchical obedience, a subservience on the part of the Wheels to the Cherubim.

This hierarchy structure is reinforced by the position of the Wheels relative to the Cherubim. They were near the earth, meaning they were lower on the hierarchy. The Lord in glory, in the likeness of a Man, who guided the chariot is high up in the clouds, indicating He heads this spiritual hierarchy.

If your theory is correct, that the Wheels are the Holy Spirit, this implies that the Holy Spirit is subservient to Cherubim. This is both blasphemy and heretical.

Verse 20 says:
Whithersoever the spirit went, thither… the wheels… followed it: for the spirit of life was in the wheels.
So the spirit of life is in the wheels, but it is not the wheels themselves. For the spirit also directed the Cherubim. The Spirit of Life both animates and directs the Cherubim and the Wheels. The Lord, who heads the chariot, sends the spirit to animate the chariot, and this is in keeping with other scriptures wherein the Spirit is sent by God.

I assert very strongly here, you reading that the wheels are the Holy Spirit is incorrect, and taking a proper contextual reading of the passage makes that clear.

Actually, I agree with his interpretation as wheel has the same meaning as* whirlwind*:

…and the whirlwind is always the presence of God (Job 38:1)

That may be true of the word “galgal,” but that’s not the word that’s being used here. The word in Ezekiel 1:15 and 10:9 for wheel is “opan” which actually means wheel, and is used in Exodus 14:25, 1 Kings 7:33, Proverbs 20:26, Nahum 3:2 always in reference to the wheel(s) of a chariot.

Likewise, the words for wheels in Ezekiel 1:16, 1:19-21, 3:13, 10:6, 10:9-10, 10:12, 10:16, 10:19, 11:22 are ha-opan, ba-opan-im, ha-opan-im, and we-ha-opan-im and a couple of these words are used also 1 Kings 7:32-33, also in reference to actual wagon/chariot wheels.

No, these Wheels should not be understood as “whirlwinds,” as that is not the word being used here. They should be understood as actual wheels, giving the understanding that this is a chariot made out of angels, as it is understood to be so in other parts of the scripture.

hmm because the link I sent you was showing they are the same 🤷
No. The link you sent was for a different word, used at different parts of Ezekiel. The link you provided was for the word galgal, not opan, and galgal is used at different parts of Ezekiel to talk about something other than the Wheels of his vision.

EDIT: Let me correct myself. In the link you provided, the lexicon indicates only two places wherein the word “galgal” is used to mean whirlwind: Ezekiel 10:13, and Psalms 77:19.

Throughout the whole Ezikiel text, the majority of times these “Wheels” are described using the word “opan,” which does not have this multiple meaning. The word “galgal” is used 5 times for the Wheels of his vision, and one of these times your lexicon says it actually means whirlwind. This is actually incorrect. In each of the other four times that the word “galgal” is used, it specifically means the wheels of a chariot, as noted by the lexicon you provided. The one time it is said to mean whirlwind the context is actually of the wheels moving. The word “galgal” actually refers to wheels rotating, as opposed to being stationary. It is incorrectly translated as whirlwind because it actually means “rotating wheel.”

The only other place in all of scripture, according to your lexicon, that the word “galgal” is used to mean “whirlwind” is then in the Psalm 77:19. However, given that in the majority of other cases “galgal” means wheel, it would argue that the terms are not actually synonymous, but that the use of “galgal” in pslams in reference to a whirlwind was actually meant to use the image of a spinning wheel in a poetic form, as the Psalms are poetry.

No, “galgal” does not mean “whirlwind.” It is only used that way as poetic form. And it there is certainly no indication that it is meant to be that in the case of Ezekiel’s vision. In all credibility, these are wheels, and not whirlwinds. So your argument doesn’t work.

Ezekiel 10:13 & Psalm 83:13 (Strongs H1534/galgal) wheel = whirlwind

Ezekiel 1:4: whirlwind = wind (tempest, storm, whirlwind/H5591) , spirit (of Heaven/Strongs H7307/ruwach)

Clearly you are wrong, in these situations, wheel, whirlwind, wind (breath) of God = God’s Spirit/presence of God.

Also, chariots/horses (of fire/whirlwind) are not referring to anything physical - but supernatural.

I’m not arguing that whirlwinds/storms/tempests, etc. aren’t associated with the Spirit of God. They are. What I’m arguing is that your reading of galgal is incorrect. It means wheels everywhere else except in Psalms. And since Psalms is poetry, its use there is poetic.

The translation I use doesn’t translate galgal in Ezekiel as whirlwind, but as wheel. And from what I see, that translation is more correct.

Furthermore, yes, regardless of how you look at it, this is all a vision, and is thus necessarily spiritual. However, the reading of the wheels in the vision as a vision of whirlwinds and not wheels is wrong. He had a vision of wheels.

And even beyond all of that, how do you account for the fact that the text actually distinguishes between the wheels and the spirit of God? How do you account for the obedience of the wheels to the Cherubim? Are you suggesting that God is obedient to His creatures?

Not to be too bold or insulting, but I knew this was a strange and heretical topic from these words in the original post:
We know that the wheels are not Father God, nor Jesus, nor an angel. That only leaves the Holy Spirit in orbital form…
… Today, we are capturing the reality of the Holy Spirit with photographs and videos. This orbital form of the Holy Spirit is also known as the “supernatural orb”.
Really? Really!?
  1. The Holy Spirit is God. He is almighty, infinite, eternal, and pure spirit. He has no “orbital form” or physical manifestation. At the Baptism of our Lord, He came down “as in” the form of a dove; that is, mysteriously, but not literally. I say this: if the Holy Spirit has some sort of essential physical or material form, he is not God. The Lord God almighty is not of this Universe.
  2. We cannot ‘capture the reality of’ the Holy Spirit. God cannot be captured. God is not a pet. God is not a toy. God is not a particle. God is … God.
  3. Despite the nonsense theories, the illustrations of Ezekiel are quite nice. There are some interesting interpretations of what the Scripture passage itself means, but the “orbital forms of the Holy Spirit” idea goes way beyond Scripture.
