:thumbsup:Greetings Fellow Believers: I just read a wonderful book on Biblical scripture that I feel compelled to share with you. It’s called Transcendent Bread, and it’s by a new author on the subject John Condenzio. Besides being well written and enlightening, it also has a photo of what the author claims is the face of Jesus, which appeared on a door of the room where he wrote it. It can be clearly seen there. Book seems to be gaining a following. Is it a clear sign of our times? Would love to know what you think. Book is brilliantly written, and is claimed to have been penned when author was still a youth.

Matt 24 gives some info on the last days. Verse 23-24 read, “Then if any man shall say to you: Lo here is Christ, or there, do not believe him. For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect.” Definitely a sign of our times!

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:36

They should put this one in the scriptures! This book lives up to its title. Transcendent Bread is exactly that-one fine piece of writing that draws one in to an extraordinary realm of elevated prose and poetry. I found it hard to believe that there actually is a work like this out there today,and I recommend it to anyone with an interest in religious literature.

Transcendent Bread is a wonderful book; deep and inspirational, it is a work that is right for the times. Its apocalyptic theme is on the mark, and its prose and poetry flow. It also borders on Biblical mysticism, and the author’s incredible claim of an appearance of what he and his “followers” believed to be the face of Jesus, made me somewhat incredulous at first, but as I read it through, the writing, message, and steadfast faith of the writer made me a believer too. Yes, truth can be transcendent in the right hands, and I recommend this book to anyone interested in religion, apocalyptic scripture, or these uncertain times in which we live.
 
Private revelation is private revelation - if it draws those who receive it into a deeper relationship with Jesus and His Church, it’s valid - for them. It does not become part of the deposit of faith.

Private revelations which draw people away from the Truth are, obviously (except to those who are hoodwinked by them) NOT from God. This is why local bishops are charged with investigating such events and why they are so hard on visionaries.

Visionaries who refuse to submit to ecclesial authority are best avoided.

I don’t know the specifics of this case so don’t know where it falls in this spectrum.

Is he Catholic? Is he the same John Condenzio who writes horror stories for a magazine?
 
Yes, he is the same writer who also publishes in the horror genre. According to his biography, he wrote Transcendent Bread and other such works decades before he entered the horror genre. I also read the horror novels, and they are excellent as well, not your typical “horror” either. This theme usually entails some greater good, or the hero’s faith in God overcoming whatever evil he/she is confronting. In light of his religious works, one would assume that he is a Catholic, and a steadfast one. I must admit his works are a strange mixture, but why not?

I posted a comment about Transcendent Bread and the photo of the claimed Face of Jesus on Facebook under Matthew King. Figure is right in middle of door and can be clearly seen when enlarged a bit.

Jesus’ face is of a man that is white, blonde hair/beard and blue eyes.

Did the colors of Jesus appear on the door too? If not, then it is a fake.

Its irrelevant what he claims. His claim is most certainly NOT Church approved and not even under consideration by the Church.
If his books are good and do not contradict Church doctrine then fine. Enjoy them but don’t let’s get caught up in all this other nonsense.

Where does it say that in the Bible?

Woudn’t Jesus, being Semitic, be more likely to have had a more olive complexion, dark hair/beard and dark eyes?

Show me where in the Roman Catholic church that dark Jesus is depicted.

I’m not talking about reality, I’m talking about the MYTHICAL Jesus-- AND HE’S WHITE!

There is no physical description of Jesus in Holy Scripture.

By the way Jesus is no myth. He is God.
