Facebook and Gay Marriage

Well, I don’t know about you but I am constantly bombarded with Gay marriage propaganda. I have waited a very long time to address the issue. It was getting to the point where I felt my silence was giving the impression that I was neutral or condoning it. In truth, I was just waiting for the “right” thing to say. It is not the easiest issue to address. Well, today I finally did it and this is what I posted.

"In the Catholic church marriage is a vocation, a calling, a ministry of service, a sacrament. It is not a ‘right,’ even for heterosexuals. It is a divine calling. I cant help but wonder if the reason so many marriages fail is that many have pursued that which they were not called to. “If the Lord does not build it, the builder builds in vain.”

If you are receiving a ads about same sex marriage or any ad that is offensive to you in particular, you should an option where you can click the upper right of the ad, and a small “X” should appear that allows you block the ad, and give a reason, i.e. offensive etc.
 
I’m assuming you mean that your friends, personally, have been posting a lot of pro-marriage propaganda.

I’m a pro-life propogandist. Haha. I’m constantly posting pro-life articles and images. I’m sure my pro-choice friends are getting really tired of it and indeed they sometimes take me to task.

Unfortunately being willing to talk about these issues ends up with the one who is speaking being labelled a ‘trouble maker’. I’ve even been told I like to argue. And for what? For standing up for what’s true? Very well then, I DO like to argue. If it’s the only way to get people talking then I will argue until I’m blue in the face!!!
 
Try being on fb with all college aged friends from California.

Sometimes one ends up with more “friends” on Facebook than one needs. They really are just acquaintances. Without defriending someone, the postings can be made to not appear on the home page.

When the Chick-Fil-A controversy happened, I posted things supporting the Church’s view on marriage. Some responses I got, even from “Catholics” (and I put that in quotes deliberately), were of the “Don’t judge” kind.

How do you explain that if you see someone putting their hand in the fire, he is going to get hurt? How can you explain that the Bible tells us to speak the truth in love? I’m thinking of Ezekiel 33 and many verses in the New Testament that mention reproofing and rebuking a person when they are not following God’s will.

I like your approach of starting with a paraphrase of “Catholics believe…” I have found that method to be more effective in evangelizing, even though it is not the only method that can be helpful.
 
In my case, I can be reported for hate speech if I decided to debate about these types of issues. Hence, I became opportunistic at where and when to strike.

What will be the next group to demand “marriage” rights? The polygamists? The group marriage activists?

Caligula, according to legend, made his horse, Incitatus, a member of the Roman senate.Whether it is true or not I don’t know.

Caligula did that to insult the Roman Senate. He did that because the Roman Senate hated his reforms.

I think another group that would demand “marriage” rights are those who believe in bestiality.

I think I’m just unlucky when it comes to FaceBook.
