Facebook friend and my wife

Are you sure you’re an adult? This sounds exactly like the conversation my 15yo cousin had with his girlfriend.

But, I’ve barely even thought about him. But just more generally, is it a given that the husband should concede to make his wife happy?

Yes.

But a wife also should in such trivial matters as facebook friends.

Why not friend on Linkedin? That way you can message if you ever want to but you aren’t sharing any real personal information.
 
Have you spoken to your wife about why she didn’t want him at the wedding? Seems very extreme for someone she had only casually dated.
