So…I’m looking at my facebook feed and someone has posted a picture of a guy beating a dog. The caption is something about “Let’s make this go viral so this guy can be identified and punished.” There’s a great deal of moral outrage that anyone could do this to an innocent animal. Many of the comments express the desire to shoot the guy, or beat him to death, etc.

So why not photograph pregnant women going into an abortion clinics and post their pictures so they can be identified? Are they not inflicting unthinkable violence on an innocent animal? Gruesome would perhaps be a better adjective.

Kill animal = bad, kill baby = okay

I posted my comment. And I’m either defriended or blocked or the thread got deleted somehow.

These hypocrites just make my blood boil.
Try Newsvine. It will make your blood explode.

I’ve noticed the same thing and I finally deleted my Facebook account, although I have the feeling it’s still there waiting for me - like the Hotel California you can check out but you can never leave.

My neighbor was pro-abortion (I won’t use the term “pro-choice”). She had an abortion as a teenager and was never able to carry a baby to term after that, although she had carried one to term before her abortion. One day I mentioned that her trees were taking over my yard (I didn’t want to bring up the fact that their roots had broken the foundation of my house and that the back is now sinking). I asked her if the trees could be cut back. She said, “No. Where would the birdies sing?”

Um, maybe in the FOREST behind our houses?

She loved animals, especially kittens. But she actively supported the pro-abortion cause. She also supposed physician-assisted suicide which is (unfortunately) legal in my state.

I had to keep my mouth shut for years. She recently passed away and as far as I know she supported abortion “rights” until her dying day (although I seriously doubt she supports them now).

I have not been able to understand why people become so nurturing when it’s a bird or fish but somehow an unborn human being can be burned alive, dismembered, or have her brains scrambled like eggs and that’s OK because it’s an issue of women’s reproductive rights. I even read that unborn babies are being referred to as “womb squatters” - as if they forced their way in and are hunkered down there, complete with little guns.

I am an avid environmentalist. I am an even more avid pro-lifer. Unborn human beings are human beings and the sooner people start to realize that the better off we will all be.

Just dump facebook. No biggie. I’ve dumped a ton of sites over the years. No reason to let anonymous jerks upset you.
I agree with this.
I agree too, although I never signed up for fb in the first place. Certain things (tv, movies, magazines, and newspapers), and sites (fb, youtube, etc.), always seem to promise more than they can deliver, all while tearing you down as you participate.

I think, too, that it influences the well-being of an individual, whether it be emotionally, mentally, physically, and all the other -ly’s.

I am not sure that they are hypocrites. It seems that they have not seen Christ yet. They claim to have seen Christ but they have not seen Christ, He is some far off thing like a star in a distant galaxy, rather than the omnipresent God who they derive all meaning from. Partly it’s lack of knowledge of His teachings, and partly because it is not true conversion of soul.
