I cllicked on a Facebook quiz today entitled, “What is your true calling?” I took the quiz, and started reading the answer, but I noticed below there were other quizzes you could take entitled, “What is the true meaning of your birthday?” (which reminded me of astrology) and “What’s your name’s hidden meaning?” and I just kind of thought, "Maybe I shouldn’t read the rest of my personality description–this might be “new agey”. But I read the description anyway, and it seemed pretty accurate. Does this sound like something I need to confess? Or should I just chalk it up to a silly quiz that guessed some things about me, based on my answers? I think I could be being scrupulous, but I don’t think I want to take these kinds of quizzes anymore. I’ve seen some one before entitled, “How did you die in your past life?” and “How old will you be when you die?” and I didn’t take those.

Those quizzes are probably more of a sin as a waste of time than anything else. Though if you have scrupulous tendencies, take that comment as tongue-in-cheek because that’s how I intended it. 😉

I wouldn’t worry about the quizzes in terms of a sin, really. Those who make them are just basing them on opinion and guesswork and I would hope no one takes them seriously at face value. They were kind of fun when there were only a few, like “What Star Wars character are you?” but lately they’ve multiplied like bunnies and look to be getting dumber and dumber. So I just scroll past them.

I don’t think this is anything you need to confess, as long as you don’t take what it says too seriously. I always find those personality quizzes to be deliberately vague, so people go “Well I’ve definitely felt like that… at times”. I think the problem is when people start to define themselves by these quizzes.

I would say stop taking the silly quizzes and forget about it.

Those kinds of quizzes are just for entertainment. They have don’t have any scientific value or offer any kind of insight to one’s personality. Go ahead, do the quizzes and be amused at the results.

agree with what others say about these quizzes…definitely not sinful,
at least the ones I have seen.

They are fun though, and one specific one I would call accurate.
Traveled recently a long way from home and was surprised when
someone 935 miles away said I have an accent.
Don’t think of that at home.
I was curious about that and found a really good quiz that "tested *
how you pronounce words and determined which dialect (region of USA) you
"could* be from. Got 100% on mine and results placed me in exact
state I live in. I didn’t think this region even had an accent, never heard
anyone talk of it.

So, this is a very lengthy way of saying some of these quizzes are a lot
of fun…and possibly a way to procrastinate when I should be cleaning
my house.

Oh, the other quiz was on world geography. got 9 of 10 correct on
that one. there are different levels. I selected the hard one.

time to have some fun…try a quiz.
