If Jesus was married, I think that’d be belief in every orthodox Christian circle. Marriage is an important thing and to neglect Jesus’ hypothetical wife would be absurd

One historian claimed something that’s a bit out there, an entire Islamic world, too, claims things that are contradictory to Christian faith. We don’t consider Islamic objections, though.

‘A small scrap of papyrus dating back to the C4th’ tells you everything you need to know. I.e an uncorroborated source written centuries after the fact. I’d make as much of it as I’d make of the da Vinci Code.

You don’t make anything of it. the scrap is the size of a small business card and partly illegible. The professor herself is careful to state that this tiny scrap does not prove Jesus was married. Many reputable scholars have pointed to similarities to a forged Gospel of Thomas and to innate grammar errors in this scrap of papyrus that indicate it is a modern forgery.
 
I can’t imagine Jesus leaving a widow and possibly children behind. That would be cruel. We also don’t see hide nor hair of her at the crucifixion. You’d think she would be there for her husband, wouldn’t you?
 
It’s a scam. Moreover, even if the document had been authentically ancient, that would not prove that it was genuinely written ABOUT the real Jesus (many people were named Jesus), much less that its claims about the real Jesus were accurate.
