Fair enough?

What are Deacons saying about the ordination of married former evangelical pastors as a Priest? Shouldn’t be fair for them to have the same privilege ?
Why don’t they go to the orthodox Church?

I am not a deacon, but my guess is that they do not discern that their vocation is to the priesthood. If it were, they would have become priests instead of permanent deacons.

I know of no “evangelical pastors” who are becoming married priests…
I have heard of Married Anglican priests who have been given a dispensation by the Holy Father to be ordained.

These are always done on a case by case basis.

The reason they don’t go to the orthodox Church is because they believe in the teachings of the Catholic Church in communion with Rome.

I’m not so certain that there are not many deacons out there who would gladly become priests, but take what is offered. I do know a few that feel the want to be a priest but are unable to because of family. It creates a difficult situation for converts especially who are married before coming in, but are not ‘priests’ already. That seems to be a double standard in a way. I’m sure there is a reasoning behind it in the church. It’s one of those things I don’t quite understand at the moment, but I follow what the church teaches on it.
