as in the select few (elect) or has God chosen us all to be His children?Man denies God naturally, unless God has chosen him.

I think it makes the reality clearer that in soteriology we are not so far apart, after all.Does your non-argument make you more Catholic or me more Lutheran?![]()
Iāve found 3 so far:Not one.
How does man deny God naturally?Man denies God naturally, unless God has chosen him.
So far as I know, Jose, the CC recognizes that man, on his own, in his fallen state, cannot come to God by his own work or efforts without grace. How does man deny God naturally?
Exactly. But the poster said naturally. We are naturally created in Godās image. Our nature was to seek God until that nature got corrupted. We are part of Godās plan, our nature belongs to him. To be as the poster said it would mean that we are born atheists. If our nature would be to deny God, then how come throughout the history of our race we have countless religions, most seeking to know God? God initiates, but nonetheless because we are His Creation our souls belong to Him.So far as I know, Jose, the CC recognizes that man, on his own, in his fallen state, cannot come to God by his own work or efforts without grace.
Where you and I will will disagree with Fundamentalist1 is in the second part. We recognize that God has chosen everyone to salvation, that the atonement is for all. Whereas, if F1 is a true Calvinist, he believes in limited atonement.

It is also you who says your faith is not enough. If faith demands repentance, then itās faith + repentance.Faith, in Jesus Christ, our Savior, alone, simple faith, is enough.
Faith has no physical attributes.
It can equalize everyone. For no amount of works, no amount of self inflicted punishments, no amount of faulty thinking, no amount of time in the far country, can give you a ābetter or worseā chance of Heaven. For Faith, itself, is the path. Jesus said He was the Way. Believe unto Him.
Of course, it pleases The Father for us to āworkā and perfect knowledge of Him. The Holy Spirit is pleased to help, to comfort us and guide us along the path of faith in Jesus, our King and Lord.
Most certainly, there are earthly tools we can use, for we were created in a physical world. But they are but tools. Helpful for some , not necessary at all.
Faith demands us to repent, to turn away from those things which are sin.
Faith the size of a mustard seed is sufficient.
It is the devil himself who tells you your faith is not enough. That old father of lies.
You obviously have attended such meetings yourself.
Really? Where does it say that?It is the devil himself who tells you your faith is not enough. That old father of lies.
James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.Faith, in Jesus Christ, our Savior, alone, simple faith, is enough.

Faith must grow into more than seed form; it must lead to more than mere faith; thatās the meaning of the Parable of the Talents. Itās all a matter of grace but that grace must be responded to-so it may increase, grace leading to more grace. Faith is the beginning, the root and foundation of our justification. In the end weāre judged based on what weāve done with what weāre given.Faith the size of a mustard seed is sufficient.

Repentence is not of a physical nature. Grace, freely asked for, is freely given. It is a gift from God.It is also you who says your faith is not enough. If faith demands repentance, then itās faith + repentance.
We are absolutely judged by our actions and our inactions. You may call it purgatory, But I will go by what Scripture calls it- the Judgement seat of Christ. Our sins are forgiven, buried in the Sea of Forgetfullness, never to be remember no more. However, our livesā¦what we became, what we could have been, the effects of our being, the untold waves we caused ā¦all will be purified by fire. Not our soul, our spirit, but by representative things such as wood, paper, straw, gold, silver, precious stones. The burnable disappears up in smoke, but the rest made pure.Faith must grow into more than seed form; it must lead to more than mere faith; thatās the meaning of the Parable of the Talents. Do you not know that it is satan all along who planted those doubts, those fears? And do you not know that Jesus knows the works of the devil and how easily he manipulates? Satan, when he was beautiful and most mighty Lucifer, manipulated one-third of the angels to rebel with him against the Creator. All they knew was being with God in Heaven and yet Lucifer convinces them they can have it better!!!I know, JSā¦
It is actually our Lord who rebukes our little Faith:
Matthew 8:26 And he said to them, āWhy are you afraid, O men of little faith?ā Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Matthew 16:8 But Jesus, aware of this, said, āO men of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves the fact that you have no bread?
Yes, our sins are forgiven, and forgotten, but that doesnāt mean we can continue to sin with impunity of course. God isnāt expecting us to slap Him in the face by continuing in the sin He offered His life to triumph over.We are absolutely judged by our actions and our inactions. You may call it purgatory, But I will go by what Scripture calls it- the Judgement seat of Christ. Our sins are forgiven, buried in the Sea of Forgetfullness, never to be remember no more. This does not take place here in our physical world, but in the afterlife.
Lets just cut to the chase here.Do you not know that it is satan all along who planted those doubts, those fears?
