Faith Alone = Sin of Presumption?

I would like to get others option on a thought I had the other day but first need someone to help me find a good biblical proof for the the Sin of Presumption?

My Question:

Every time I hear or read about Protestants beliefs in “Faith Alone” and the idea that all the sins of believers (current and future) are covered by the Blood of Calvary if they only accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and say the believers prayer, isn’t this just the sin of presumption unless they participate in the Saving Power of God?

That would be correct, although I strongly suspect that many Protestants do participate in the Saving Power of God, just not in the ordinary way (sacramental confession).

Are you saying they think they are without sin?
This passage comes to mind as presumptive, if so:
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
