Again, with respect, you are missing the point of sola fide. Your logic is illogic. Sola fide does not exclude, but in fact truly includes both hope and charity.=dogknox;7180412]Hello JonNC It is good to meet you…
You asked.
**I reply… **Good question… The scriptures answer…
There are just the Three… “Faith Hope & LOVE”!
JonNC QUESTION… Can a man with Faith ALONE have Hope and or LOVE?
LOGIC says… If you are with faith ALONE then you have NO Hope or LOVE!
LOGIC says… “IF you are outside you can’t be INSIDE at the same time!”
Sola fide claims ONLY that we are justified by grace alone through faith in Christ alone.
Please find a quote somewhere, anywhere, from any Lutheran that says a Lutheran is without hope and charity.JonNC with all respect… Scripture is clear… “God is LOVE”!
The man with Faith and only faith, is without all hope and LOVE… he is God-less!
Exactly, a faith without hope and love is a dead faith, not a svaing faith. Where did you hear that sola fide means the exclusion of hope and charity?**FACT: **The idea of “faith ALONE” is a man made TRADITION it first appeared in the sixteenth century. The scriptures are clear… “God gave the world his command to LOVE!” God said…“You MUST LOVE”!
Question if you MUST LOVE, can the person with Faith and ONLY faith, be keeping the COMMAND of the King!?? (be honest)
I am justified by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. I am also required to do good works, but those good works do not justify. Grace through faith justifies. Good works follow by necessity, or it is a dead faith. From the Lutheran confessions:JonNC Think about it… If you are saved by your faith ALONE then, you are effectively leaving “God out of your salvation!” God IS LOVE… there are only the three (3)!
We believe, teach, and confess also that all men, but those especially who are born again and renewed by the Holy Ghost, are bound to do good works.
9] 4. In this sense the words necessary, shall, and must are employed correctly and in a Christian manner also with respect to the regenerate, and in no way are contrary to the form of sound words and speech.
10] 5. Nevertheless, by the words mentioned, necessitas, necessarium, necessity and necessary, if they be employed concerning the regenerate, not coercion, but only due obedience is to be understood, which the truly believing, so far as they are regenerate, render not from coercion or the driving of the Law, but from a voluntary spirit; because they are no more under the Law, but under grace, Rom. 6:14; 7:6; 8:14.
Sola fide does not exclude hope and charity, but instead, includes them.
- Accordingly, we also believe, teach, and confess that when it is said: The regenerate do good works from a free spirit, **this is not to be understood as though it is at the option of the regenerate man to do or to forbear doing good when he wishes, and that he can nevertheless retain faith if he intentionally perseveres in sins. **

Leaving God out of salvation is; “Anti-Christ!”
With all respect….(how else can I put it?) If you believe; Jesus is God then you are saved by “Love Alone”! You will enter “THROUGH LOVE”!
IF you believe the scriptures you will understand… Faith and Hope are not needed in heaven… the man with “Faith ALONE” will not enter! Only LOVE will last forever!
Faith by it’s self is NOT scriptural it it is NOT Logical!
Well, since sola fide does not leave out God, it isn’t anti-Chirst.
We are justified by faith alone, but faith, a true, living, saving faith is not, cannot be alone.
