I was meditating upon the joyous mystery of the presentation of the Lord yesterday. I don’t know why – but Simeon struck a chord with me. The Lord promised to appear to him, and it is likely he expected a fiery chariot and a kingdom of glory as the Messiah would rule the world.
But the Lord appeared to him as a child. The king of kings, the greatest man to ever live, but nonetheless, an infant but 40 days old. And I feel the same way at times: I doubt anything I am told unless it is sealed with a lightning bolt from the heavens, when in reality, I should know God is wherever righteousness goes.
Faith is a funny thing sometimes, glory to God.
