I received invites to a lecture from this guy from some friends at school, to lectures/debates from a guy called Greg Koukl (I believe he’s from the states, a christian author, radio host etc.) with topics such as ‘Do Moral Truths Exist’ and ‘Is it intolerant to say Jesus is the only way?’ which I guess were upcoming events of his that were going to happen in my city- that is what the small letter my friend gave me in class said- and I was a bit uneasy as to accept going. Is this something a Catholic can go to? All I know is that he is more of an evangelical christian, and on his site he’s organization/group sort is a mixture of Christians, but I’m not sure if this is something that can be good for a Catholic to go to… (we were the only ones not listed on his website under 'we are a group of Christians such as baptists, pentecostals, reformed etc etc.)
Does anyone know what this may be about?
I don’t want to offend my friends by refusing (as they are devout in their own churches and as they tell me how this man is a good friend with pastors etc.) but is this something necessarily Catholics should go to? Or will it be a clash of beliefs/doctrine?
