Edit: I dont have to read too far into this encyclical to insight why it was released in Advent. A good way to read is to transfer it all into Word so you can make notes, highlight etc. as you read.

I was given the assignment of reading the first paragraph by my parish priest…well, who can do just THAT? I have not really studied it yet, but the first reading through bolstered my faith and gave me hope…
…bought tears to my eyes. Pope Benedict sure knows how to push my buttons:thumbsup:

My parish Priest made this known to us this past Sunday in the church bulletin and spoke of it during his homily to start off advent unto the last chapter on “Mary, Star of Hope”. Here’s the prayer for her intercession as the remedy for the “current crisis of christian hope.”Thanks heaps and heaps for this link:thumbsup: I didn’t think it would be released until this coming Friday…regards - Barb
